Does anyone know if there is a recently released software update for the V8 VE Commodore/V8 WM Caprice 6sp auto transmission ?
I'd heard that Holden was working on a s/w update to fix the poor shifting performance of these auto gearboxes (stop the thumping when it shifts up or down gears) as well as the indecisive 'Sports' mode.

I would be interested to know also.. Although im yet to experience the 'thumping', i do find the gear changes in the 6AT to be slow. Here's hoping that the SW update would be a free upgrade to existing owners.. :)

Just get a LSX-edit tune done to release the beast with in it. And they can adjust the transmission parameters as well.

Is anything generally available for the A6 yet though? Last I heard there wasn't so still waiting for mine to be done (has been tuned already).

The only thing adjustable in comercially available software at the moment is shift points. Some tuners may have their own custom software or beta versions with more parameters available though.

That's what I thought!:yup: I know CalaisRider had his tweaked but I think that was a one off. I'd rather wait for something tested and tried ........

Are these available in the beta version of the tuning software or are you modifying the code using your own software?

Hi,
I can honestly say the 5sp auto in my Calais V is no better when it comes to gear shifting and smooth changes.
It is especially slow when you first shift from full auto into semi-auto and try and shift down a gear. The box can, on occasion take up to two seconds to drop back the first shift.
This is extremely frustrating when your towing and need to use some engine breaking.
My old 4sp semi-auto XR6 was much more decisive than the new 5sp.
