Hi. Just thought i would take the chance to put up the results of my 402 stroker sam finished on his engine dyno today. It made 565hp and 510 foot pound. According to sam its chalk and cheese over the 383 he built me. Cant wait to dirve the thing(hopefully thursday). Thanks

Well i will know the full details of the motor when i pick up the car. But at this stage i know this setup is running a FAST manifold with 90mm throttle body, CNC heads and the camshaft is bigger than a 260/260. It made 565hp with 1-3/4 inch headers and today made 577hp with 1-7/8 inch headers which i think were di fillipo. When i get the car back i will know alot more. Hope this is some help.

Phwoar. That must be mental. I like your style.

Are the HP readings on an engine dyno?

yeah the results are from an engine dyno. Not to sure what it will make at the wheels. I have to change my current exhaust system now so i will be lacking some RWHP until i have funds to upgrade to exhaust.

You should be making at around 350 rwkw (probably more) in a 402 with a cam that size.

Man that sounds awsome, I wish I could do that to my toy.

Unfortunately the house extension, garage rebuild, feeding the kids and paying the bills come first, so all my extra pennies are going there.

interesting to see the gain with the 1 7/8th over the 1 3/4. Small gain in the top but a drop in the lower range which dispells the myth that all engines need 1 7/8th pipes.

That is interesting to see that a change in pipes made that much difference, Good Work!

What did it end up making @ the tyres?

The HP @ the wheels is lower than what it should be. It made 440hp on a hot day. Sam said it should be makin 460 to 470hp or more, but my current exhaust setup is killing the power. He also told me he couldnt get the best tune on the car because of my exhaust. He is goin to work out the exhaust for me. Most likely a di fillipo dual 3 inch with the 1 7/8 extractors .Once he fits the exhaust he is goin to retune it so ive still got more power to come. For a car with such a big cam it drives good. I thought it would be a pig to drive but sam can work wonders with a tune. So now i gotta get the exhaust to really show the power.

It idles at 1100rpm but doesnt sound that high. The sound on idle is awesome. Ive reved it to 7000rpm so far. Not sure it thts its limit but i will see soon enough.

Hey, Yeah thats me on youtube. There will be some better stuff next time my mate is down from queensland. Just before christmas i sold the old exhaust. It now has Hurricane 1-7/8 4 into 1 extractors with 3 inch high flow cats and stainless 3 inch x-force exhaust, after sam had it fitted to the car he re-tuned it (for free),the final power is 478rwhp. I am one very very happy customer
