Boost98 On Edge Tune Questions

Hi everyone,

This is my first post to the forum, so please be kind :)

I have two questions that I hope someone can answer.

Firstly, I have a LS1 tuned with a 'On Edge' tune with Boost 98 (10% ethanol). I am very happy with it, but am unsure what happens when I need to put BP Ultimate or any other 98 Octane fuel in. Will it ping or run rich, due to the tune on Boost98. Or am I limited to Boost98.

Secondly, can I add an octane booster to Boost98 to get it up to about 100 octane? and what effect will this have.

If it's tuned on ethanol blended fuel, then it will run richer when non-ethanol blended fuel is used.

These are questions best answered by yout tuner however, as only HE knows exactly what's in your PCM.

It will run richer and if the 'Boost 98' is working well it will be more likely to ping. But it will probably be OK - but as Chops said check with the tuner.

What do you mean by Boost 98 running well and it will ping?

It doesnt ping now, and all i have used is Boost 98.

If I run another non-ethanol 98 fuel, will it cause pinging if its running rich?

I dont know who tuned it as I bought the car from someone who told me that it had the On Edge tune on Boost98, but it would be fine to run the other fuels. I didnt want to take the risk so I have only been using Boost98, and the car feels fantastic.

Just wondering would would happen if I was out and couldnt get to a Boost98 pump. Also regarding the Octane Boost, will that give me more power?
