So was 10:00am Thursday 11th October 2007 HSV's "Biggest Moment" in it's 20 year History? Was HSV's claim absolutely spot one or just a blatant marketing stunt?

Obviously this is being discussed in the 'HSV Teaser' thread but I want to see exact numbers on peoples opinion and since I can't create a poll in a post...

Hopefully HSV can pass this onto their "Marketing & Sales area to keep in mind for future promotions" :)

Perhaps you should add an "I'm over it, I dont care anymore" catagory

HSV's "Biggest Moment"? Yes or No?

People who don't have an opinion in the matter, simiple, don't vote :)

absolute joke IMO why have a count down and keep people in anticipation to only reveal something which is a basically a normal model with a special one off 'crap'colour?! and an engraving for the added 'wank' factor, i suppose it gets more hits for their site if that counts for anything?!

I chose the Ice-cream option.

Seriously, I'm not sure if this event was targeted at us enthusiasts. It may have been an attempt to win over new consumers...and it possibly worked. We wont see for a while though, but events like this can swing consumers who may otherwise not have looked at the product.

Not every campaign is targeted at us...Perspective helps i guess.

If a 20th anniversary R8 with gimmicky addons and a new colour is the biggest thing that HSV have done in 20years. I guess it will be ohhhh so easy to make the next 20 bigger and better!!!

What do you think they will do at 25, 30 or even 50yrs. I am so excited now I can hardly contain myself!!!! The 20th was just oh sooooo very very special!!!!:bow::bow::vpo::vpo::spew::spew::c heers::lmao:

Very ordinary effort for such a milestone edition. Especially Ford just revived a special nameplate like the "Cobra" with a jump in power and special features...

Imagine, 5 -10 years from now people will not even recognise this is a HSV commemorative edition....What 20th Edtion HSV????

Come on HSV, don't sleep on your laurels.

They could have just photoshopped the body instead of going to the cost of changing the paint and adding stickers !> :jester:

And then you read this from there marketing dept "From those humble beginnings, HSV has gone on to produce over 55,000 vehicles and dominate the world of Motorsport,” Scott Grant said."

The 'World' Mr Grant? the whole wide world?? seriously, grasping for news are we? The VE seems to be (IMHO) the best Holden/HSV ever made, that i have know doubt, you wanna impress? take the thing to Nurburgring and beat the M3, beat an AMG!! just stop beating your pud with BS like special paint and numbering, whats next?

Well, WHAT WAS "THE BIGGEST MOMENT"????????--Surely it wasn't the 20th Anniv. Clubsport, it couldn't have been the MALOO,----so, WHAT WAS IT?
At the moment, HSV seem to be a bit of a laughing stock.
Cheers, Pickles.

Oh well, they've got to say something nice else they would have no job at all. Bet they would say the same thing if they're working for Proton and promoting......Jumbuck utes !!!! :nyuk:

If that's the best they could pull off for "The biggest moment in 20 years", than I'm in shock. Not in a good way either.

I actually feel bad for saying the 40th Anniversary GT is just a GT, with stripes. Atleast that wasn't hyoed up to be the greatest thing ever.

Well one thing it did acheive, it got people talking. Other than that shame on HSV, shame.

With Holden's decimation at Bathurst, and this failing to meet expectations, this has to be the sh*ttest 2 weeks for Holden/HSV for a number of years. IMO the only highlight has been the Sportswagon. (I don't really like the Maloo)

But the previous gen GTS did beat the previous gen M5 and Merc............

However the M5 has how got 500horsies while HSV has been left behind with its 420hp.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Holden and HSV have definitely gone backwards.

All credit to Ford for over-shadowing Holden lately, they deserve all the accolades, Holden and HSV definitely need to lift their game...............:flipoff:

I agree, and if HSV don`t bring out the LS7 , we will just go out and buy the new ORION with a possibility of a GTHO :vpo:

You've got to be kidding me, right???

I went to the motor show last night with three mates, none of which could care less about any Holden v Ford rubbish... and it was unanimous that the HSV stand was on par with one of the best at the show.

In comparison, we spent a collective 10 seconds at the Ford/FPV stand... i.e. walking straight through it towards Lamborghini.

To say that FPV has somehow 'overshadowed' HSV is laughable... The Cobra is equally as lame as HSV's 20th year Clubsport, and the F6 Territory - one of the cars i was VERY excited to see - was a complete disappointment. I seriously don't know how FPV could have stuffed that up, but the thing looked tacky and not the least bit aggressive. The dual exhaust hanging off the bottom looked terrible, too. The rest of the FPV stand? I won't even go there...

Meanwhile, the Maloo drew far more attention from my friends and from what i could see, most other people too... Although I am a car fan (and admittedly, Holden aligned), they were drawn towards what is exciting, what appeals.... and it was the Audi, Lambo and HSV stand, in that order, that took up most of their time.

I fail to see how FPV or Ford have overshadowed Holden/HSV in any way, except for two excellent Bathurst wins.

PS. I completely agree the marketing build-up to the 20th yr Clubsport was a complete joke... but after year after year after year of absolute show-stopping concepts and moments (read Monaro, HRT Maloo, Efigy, SSV etc etc etc) I am willing to forgive this blatant overstatement.

That is some funny arsed shit!!

Before the TRD Aurion, Toyota's car menu was as bland as boiled newspaper and about as exciting as drowning in a vat of arse vomit, but at least in the world wide stage they have been taking Motorsport seriously.
