Your car was just down the line when mine was made!

I've got VYII R8 No. 164

I must say, I'm curious as well......Mine was a November 2003 version....so I'm curious how they managed to make 164 cars so early in the production period for the VYII when most of the VYII were 2004. Unless they made a crap load of R8's first up....then switched a majority of production to Clubsports there after ??? F'd if I know.

Interesting troytroy, mine being number 175 and on the build date 23 Oct 2003, but yours was built in November. do the numbers line up at all or are they just random.

Mine is No 466 build. Dated 23/03/2004.
As mine is Ultra Violet. I would think that after the paint shop
it was always going to be a HSV. As the colour is a HSV colour only?
Or is it the same colour as Cosmos on Holdens.
Same as Redhot & Sting Red are the same colour but holden & HSV have diff names.

In the factory the cars are already designated right from the start of production whether its HSV or not!.(made due to demand or random not quite sure) Then it gets built like any normal car(earlier GTS's did already have those nice billet throttle bodies on from the start) then off too HSV for rework and replacement of the standard features!
