just wondering what psi to start off with at the strip. I know they are 18`s so I won`t be expecting that much from them but hopefully they make some sort of a differance. Any help would be good:)

Is it a drag slick or a track slick?
Track slicks wont work at the drags very well, worse than a street tyre (ive tried)

If they are semis we used to deflate them to 11-12psi so when they got heat they would rise to 13-14psi. Some go a lil lower and some go a lil higher, all depends on track temperature. Hope that's been of some help :)

Tried on my Yoko AO48s and got stuff all difference. Best was a 2.1 60ft. Tried pressures from 15 to 30. No difference on my car.
Maybe someone has tried the RE55 semi slick. Heard that people get reasonable numbers from them and they are a circuit racing semi slick.

You really need to find out what brand of tyre they are as different styles require different methods. With M/T Street ET's some people run em at 14psi and other say best traction is at 18-21.

Are those figures hot or cold?

If you saw the skids I was doing you'd know the answer to that question.
As I was letting more air out at the end of the day the air was sooooo hot coming out you had to watch your fingers.

MT DR's......optimum psi *22*…..as used for 1.4 sixty Fts
RE55’s……….optimum psi *24*…...
Nittos………..as per above RE55’s…
Falken semi comps…..as per RE55’s
That’s for A4’s……………M6 ??...wouldn’t have glue

Sorry am apparently a bit thick ;-)
I have MT DR so I measure the pressure when I put the wheels on at the track and the gauge says 22psi (cold) and I'm good to go?
Thanks for your paitence:)

General idea with the MT DR is to drive to the track...saves a heap of mucking around........I set mine at 22psi 30 odd minutes after driving through the gates :)

I run 21 psi, in 17 inch Toyo Proxes RA1 s and find they hook up really well.
Saying that only managed a 1.86 60 footer.
but i still a novice

i would have liked to use track slick 18s......on the standard clubby rims...
it would avoid having to put stock brakes on the rear to step back to 15's..
i think i might try 17inch rims with ET streets....(when its time to race)
theres some wikidly fast times being run on this combo
