I don't know, but the VE Omega i had hired over the weekend was gutless and made no difference in the shift point so no point having it there, rather drive a VS around, don't know why they feel so much slower than a VS-VX, i would hope the SV6 motor would feel better with about 20kw more.
It wouldn't even show signs of lighting up the treads with Sports Shift on and Stability Control off, couldn't find a button for traction control asuming it comes under the stability control.

The sport button is being deleted and sport mode will be activated when the shifter is moved sudeways. I believe this will delete active select but you can still change manually. Wont hold the gears like active selects does which is useless neway.

that sounds like ford's ba/bf setup. it works pretty well, except in their case sport mode means no 4th until 160kph...(the 6 speeder i dont know)

No sports button, but you still have 'auto', 'sports' and 'manual' modes.
With the stick in D your in 'auto'
move the stick across and you enter 'sports'
you can either leave it there in sports, or if you tap the shifter up or down you enter 'manual' mode, which is the same as active-select

thats exactly the way the ZF operates

I think I'd rather my setup(MY06), being able to stay in drive(d) and hit sports button for better auto changes not having to manual change(I'm Lazy) but still having the option for manual changing if feel like it. Not Holden saving $$$ again???

Sound's like they might be going to something similar to what they have in the current generation Subaru Liberty's.
Stick it in D for normal driving but then if you want sports mode, slide it across to sports shift and leave it alone. This will engage 'Auto' sports mode and will still change automatically with higher shift points etc. but as soon as you start going through the gears manually it goes to manual mode and you need to change gear yourself. Hope this makes sense

you miss the point, you dont HAVE to manual shift. If you just slide the shifter across you are in sports mode, as if you just pressed the sports button.
the manual shift mode doesnt enable unless you start shifting manually.
Daz > spot on.

But then you lose the ability to have a sport auto mode and a sport manual mode ... I know that sometimes I want sportier shifts in auto and relaxed shifts in manual mode (this isnt programmed btw) ... furthermore, the stick does look crap leaning to the left just to get sport mode ... cost saving exercise for sure ...
Has anyone used the new throttle blip? Is it good? The Senator only does it when in auto sports mode while slowing down ... it is disabled in manual mode ... I cant wait to get the new program ... I think it is a great feature ...

The differance between the ZF gear box & VE is that the Holden when moved to manual shift will only stay in the selected gear whereapon the ZF will kick down to a lower gear if floored in performance mode. I found the VE annoying in this respect after comming from a XR6T ZF auto to the SS auto.
