Melbourne Auto Salon - NW(ife)S, 56k warning

Curtis and I headed off to the Melbourne Auto Salon this morning, free entry made it all more the worth while.

A fantastic fine day had all the hotties out and about, making very nice viewing.

So after we had seen the 4 or 5 decent cars on display, it seemed a shame to waste a trip to Jeffs Shed.

If you can get past the first half a dozen photos or so .......

Big Turbo you say? This thing produced 750 RWKW on the dyno they had running. Toyota Supra.

Some very nice pics.

I went there with AJR-01 today.

Between us nearly 200 hundred photos, and some photos of the cars too..

Was well organised, flowed pretty well - thumbs up to the organisers.

And worth the $17 entry. A quick registrastion on the Autosalon webiste sends a $5 discount voucher that you can print out as many copies as you want. I gave a few extras away whilst in the ticket purchase line.

Will have to go through all our photos and add some to this thread.

I'll never forget a couple of years ago at Melbourne Autosalon our Dyno announcer asked these 2 promo chicks that came into the dyno area with a particular car:

"Girls, what do you do when your not doing promotional work like here at Autosalon"

Answer: "We go to school to do our HSC", the crowd pissed themselves!

Went there too on Sunday.
Spoke to the guy about the twin turbo setup. He quoted $10K just for parts. And he also told me he already sold 6 of them during the autosalon weekend. To make things worse, after I told him I have a VX SS manual, he said that he actually has the twin turbo setup in a VX SS manual which apparently makes 330 KW at the wheels and that everything else in the car is stock. I questionned him about the standard clutch holding that much power..and he was positive that the car handles really well and that clutch, diff everything holds well. (car has done 115 000 Kms).
I dont know if it was his marketting strategy or something, but I just found it hard to believe that. I was so close to tell him to go on LS1 forum and tell everybody there who have modded their car and spent so much money to get 30-50 extra kw that they are all idiots as all they needed was about 10 -12 K and that would give them almost 130 extra KW....but then I thought since I dont know enough to back up my big mouth...I'd better smile, nod and move off to see some dyno runs.

Hahaha funny you post this, I'm actually employed by the Cabin Crew (the guys that own the Auto-Salon) and was actually supervising the Activision booth in the GAME1 area. (you have pics of the 4 girls i was supervising)

Basically just making sure it ran smoothly and making sure the girls are doing with they're suppose to be doing (taking photos, playing games, chattin to ppl etc)

Was a good couple of days....and yeh your right there were a few REALLY nice cars there.

P.S. I will also be at the Sydney one to do the same next Friday :P
