View Full Version : Fitment of VZ guard flutes on a VY

Hi People,
Has anyone come across putting the VZ indicator flutes on other models ?
Wouldnt mind some pointers or who will do it in Adelaide without botching it !

If you have a VY it's probably better just to buy some VZ guards, the "stuck in" ones never seem to look as perfect.

If you're going to fit up the VZ guards you will also need the VZ bonnet as the top shrouds are different on the VY/Z models which run along the bottom of the windscreens. I just went the VZ Monaro bonnet but looking back now I should've put the guards on also as it would've been alot easier! :)

hey my mate just put some on his vy ss and it ended up costin around $900 that was buying the guards with the flutes in them and that included paintin the guards but im not shore if that was mates rates or not.

If my mate who is a rough nut fitter machinist can do it. anyone can. These were stock VX guards that were cut out and the VZ frames glassed in. Simple as that. Sorry I don't have any closer pics, but the fit is excellent.

On a side not. That bar and bonnet are also glass items. The bar actually fits better than my OEM HSV bar. So those that think that fiberglass panels are always mis aligned. well have a look for yourself.
