I thought you got a new boot lid without holes? it mounts in the original 2 front SS spoiler holes

Not a big fan to be honest.... but each to their own....

Not a big fan either. The VE rear end has been designed well enough to work without a lip spoiler, and the no-spoiler-stealth look is getting a bit old.

The lip spolier looks good, but IMO, unnecessary.

Agreed,. ive seen a black VE SS, lowered with wheels, with no boot spolier and it looked hot..

need a shot of the car from back further to get a better perspective.

Also I think the SS-V has a different bumper/larger light assembly? Or I might be wrong..

I like it alot :headbang:/ definately helps with the euro inspired shape - Big wings on euro cars look silly. (IMO)

BIG WINGS ARE SO NINETIES :stick:

I like it, its the happy medium between no spoiler and having some large tacky thing hanging from the back of the car.

I think it looks great, much better than the big one (holden option) i have seen on a couple of Calais. Understated is a good look, especially when you are no longer in the prime of your youth.

I was led to believe by the way Holmart are selling theirs and also from a knowledgeable acquaintance with a Calais V that they were only fixed on with double sided tape. From what you're saying that's not correct???

No they bolt on with 2 bolts on the outside and then the double sided tape is to seal it and keep it flush in the middle I'll post pics of the under side of it tomorrow to show everyone what it looks like

Looks great, I tried to do this a while back but Holden actually sold the wrong lip spoiler to me (grange spoiler).

Every time I ask them for the proper lip soiler they can't / don't have a part number to order for me - Could you please post up the part number so I can purchase one of these.

Thanks!

vess - word on the street is that you were told many times it was the wrong spoiler, but you bought three anyways?

Guy at Holden parts was none too impressed when they were returned

I think that it looks hot! Love the silver above the number plate also!

Looking forward to that part number

why do you need a part number its not that hard to ring a holden spares..

I left my order in the hands of vess ... ended in tears :bawl:

I went in to purchase a VESV6 last week, they had a boot lip spoiler on one of the showroom cars, yet couldn't tell me if it was available claiming that it was a Hsvi part? So if Holden don't know, I sure as hell wont have a clue.

Anyway, that's why.

Part Number is 92217652 and if you already have an SS spoiler dont let them tell you that you need to buy 2 nuts for it cos they cost $8 each  and the nuts from the old spoiler fit it so you'll save yourself $16

Is this the same spoiler that they are fitting to the Calais V international?

I don't mind it but I think it would look better without the stripes and the chrome surround.

Can we get a shot of it from further back?? As per the other thread my '08 VESS will have the "low" rear spoiler, and after thinking about it last night i'm not sure i'll swap it for the larger '07 spec wing now.....

Jurys out, more pix please. :)

Redvess,
The chrome mold on the boot........thats from a CalaisV...???
Did you put that on yourself and if so was it difficult???
I asked my dealer to do it and they baulked at it saying that they couldnt guarantee that they could properly seal against water ingress under the boot lip and it could cause the boot to rust out.:shock:....so I wimped out.

I'm taking it that the G8 spoiler is obviously the same as the ones they are using on the Calais International? What are the dollars on these if you don't mid me asking as I am keen to get one on my Calais V?

Cheers

dad is getting his fitted and painted on tuesday. The spoiler is the same as the calais international. Prices vary quite bad, i rang a few different holden dealers rangeing from $250 - $365 from suttons in sydney:confused:. Best price is at holmart at $195 + freight. Will throw some pics up of dads calais v when its done.

I saw redvess' today plus there was a new Calais V with one at Chev's too - I'm very tempted!! They're not too expensive so if I try it and don't like I can always sell it again!

I notice you have the rear window shade fitted to the top of the rear window as well. How do you find the fit of it? I got my friendly parts guy to order one in but when we just held it in place it didn't look like it was going to be a good fit. It looked like it would have bulges on each side.

Did you have any problems at all and can you take some close up pics of it from different angles and chuck them up on here please.

Cheers

as you can see in the first pic of the right hand side there's a gap at the top but thats only cos the double sided tape that holds in down isnt sticking properly and hasnt really since I got it I spose I could've taken it back to get it fixed but its never really bothered me

I got the idea and info I needed to fit it here Australian LS1 and Holden Forums (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=1017796&postcount=65)

ok I dont mean to turn this into a my ride thread but I just took some clearer side shots with the digital camera to give people some perspective of the side profile of the spoiler

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/003-1.jpg
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/001-2.jpg

and this one to show the rear profile can anyone say P-H-A-T

I prefer the original one, the lip looks out of proportion with the rest of the kit.
