Hi guys

I am booking my VE SV6 for a performance tune and most likely headers and cats as well (might not be at the same time).

From what I read the remapping of the PCM from factory default gives it a decent performance increase from 1500rpm .... with usual gains in the 20rwhp range. In addition , there are fuel saving gains possible as well (depending on how u drive of course).

Looking to get this done at Castle Hill Exhaust ...

Since I am new to this ... I was wondering if there are any other users with VE SV6 that had this done and what is their experience driving the car afterwards.

hi buddy

I have seen both threads (I even made a post in one of them) but there are no posts from users with VE SV6 ...

my question is targeted directly at those , who have same car and did the tune ...

I've also heard that its about 15 to 20 rwhp and am looking at doing it myself also but am in Melbourne. I have called a few places but its still a little untried.

Would love to do it but am also concerned about the warranty issue.

If you have it done please let us know how it goes.

Im pretty interested for my V6 Rodeo.
Its the same basic engine as the VZ/VE V6 (not the high output version) but with a lower compression ratio.

I can recommended the tune and castle hill exhaust cause I had my VZ calais done there.
I realize its not the same car but motor wise very little differences.
The Tune helps mostly in overtaking scenario it pulls ya back in ya seat and for a six goes quite well.
I often drive a VE SV6 6 speed aswell and it does not have the same acceleration as the calais after the tune
Take off is still a bit sluggish but its not as bad as before.
I also only have just the tune with no exhaust or CAI mods yet so i imagine it would only get better with those bits and pieces.

your going to need more than a 20rwhp gain to beat a rs megane off the line.

I havent seen the car you are talking about but im guessing it is a hot hatch.

power to weight you are at a big disadvantage, adding the 20" wheels will actually make ur car slower as well :P as for being a fast car, you will have to turbo/supercharge it :)

I see what you mean ... its 168kW but only 1400kgs compared to VE SV6 which is 195kw (bit more after the upgrades) but 1735kgs

this is just a quick post ... I had the TUNE done on Thursday along with cats and headers.

Dyno sheet shows 202rwhp now (from around 185ish)

Not the best ... but not to shabby ... the difference can really be felt when using the semi automatic mode.

While in AUTO, the diff is not that big ... only the fact that its more responsive straight from 1500rpm

while in SA mode ... the diffrence is much more noticeable ...

Thanks Omarko,
Where did you get it done?

Has the 'doughy' low range non-responsiveness gone away?

got it done at Castle Hill Exhaust

its still only V6 that weighs freakin 1800kgs ... so you cant expect miracles ... it IS more responsive in the lower range ... but it can really be felt only when using the manual shift mode ...

At this stage, I can not make a call whether the $2400 for the upgrade was worth it ...

time will tell :)

now I need some 20" VE GTS rims :0
