I was very disappointed yesterday to be the first to put an offer at the requested price on some wheels and tyres listed for sale by sikls1. After being notified that I was the first to reply as sold then ringing andy to find out that he sold them to the person third in line totally pissed me off. I understand that he can sell them to whom ever he wants but there should be some guidelines on first in best dressed in my opinion. After your opinion or am I just being a sook? Thats possible cause I really wanted them.

Unfortunately the for sale guidlines are there for good reason. We had way too many negative posts to leave it the way it was.
At the end of the day this isn't a topic about the guidlines its more to do with those advertising the goods for sale. If you had first bid on something I was selling then I would give you first option.
Because the seller decided to sell it to the 3rd bidder, doesn't make it anything other than his decision. This is something you need to address with them.

I understand your point.
I suppose it comes down to individuals ethics and that something none of us control of.

You're supposed to PM the person selling the goods
The only replies that SHOULD make it into a forsale thread are questions and answers about the item for sale.
The posts of I'll buy it etc etc should be via PM and never get to the thread. I hope you moderators are reading this as well .. :slap:

I did pm him straight away sidey. Also posted it so that he would know both ways yet still got shafted.

Unfortunately if someone is selling an item then they can pick and choose how much they want to ask for it, who they want to sell it to and when they would like to sell it.
We are only a "medium" for them to advertise the goods, essentually a tool to aid in helping out our members.
We cannot place rules on who someone can and cant sell too.. it is a moral obligation that is up to the seller.
......I am tipping that someone offerred a higher price, therefore they automatically made themselves look more appealing!! Something we obviously didnt think of at the time

Understand Andy. Just trying to put my point across that people selling should have some ethics when selling I was giving him exactly what he asked for. If he said more he should have asked for more. Anyway I hope I have made my point and don't want to dwell on it too much. I will get over it. I know its not the forums fault or the moderators fault so it just something that will stay in the memory bank.

Maybe the person he sold it to was local, that means no hassle about postage/courier then. Selling bulky items where a courier is needed adds an extra amount of hassle that I'm sure many buyers would gladly do without. Maybe PM him and ask why he sold to the other buyer...

If I was offered more for something I was selling and there was no agreement to sell yet I would be going to the first bidder and advising that I'd been offered a higher price and if they wanted to match/beat it then it's thiers else I'd be selling to the person who offered the most. It would have been different if an agreement to buy/sell had been entered into between 2 individuals and someone came along and offered more.

fully agree with you sidey. You obviously have the same principles as me. I assume your reaction would have been the same as mine as well.

Sorry Large,
I did reply to you, and stated that there sold to someone else, you got me wrong into thinking i sold them to you, when i PM you to tell you that they were sold, you thought i meant you, sorry for this as i sold them to a local person without the hassle of interstating the wheels to where you live, if you were the only one available, and i had no-one to pick from about 10 PM i had that day about the wheels, i would of sold them to you.
Anyway i sorry again , but unfortunately if someone is selling an item then they can pick and choose how much they want to ask for it, who they want to sell it to and when they would like to sell it, becasue you were first don't make you are the one i got to sell them too!!!!
Because the seller decided to sell it to the 3rd bidder, doesn't make it anything other than his decision.ME
Rest my case.
If you look at the FOR SALE area i do have more for sale, but ring me, sorry again.
And if you think this was a problem why didn't you email me back and we could of talk private about, them this topic won't of been here, and luck i look here, to see you talking about this problem with other people than me. Why?
Gee's i was only trying to help you people out and it like i got mud throwing in my face.
We cannot place rules on who someone can and cant sell too.. it is a moral obligation that is up to the seller. ME

No a problem Large, we might go for a light beer, less calories than the full strength, much better than that heavy stuff.
Just have to make time to visit down under some day.
Did you see anything you like in the for sale section mate.
I put you on top of my list.:D:
Cheers Drew:cool:
