as the title says i have a problem with the 19's i just got. the wheels are xhp boost in 19x8.5 with 245/35/19 tyres and they are fitted to a vy ss.

so the problem is the left front wheel protrudes from the wheel arch where as the right front fits in under the gaurd. i have checked the offset stamped on the rim and they match. i have cleaned the hub and made sure it is fitted correctly. i would just pop down to the tyre shop i got them from but its a 300km one way drive as there isnt anywhere here i would use since they mainly work with earthmoving and transport equiptment.

i need to get this fixed soon as i want to lower in the near future. at the moment it only scrubs out on big bumps. any ideas of what could be the cause of this. also i got a wheel alignment done today which done nothing for it either.

here are some pics of the problem side

They look pretty far out on the guards, as long as they don't touch i think 19's look awesome:)

when you got the wheel alignment did you get them to check the toe angle and camber, castor etc?

The wheels can still be aligned even with the toe out (i'm pretty sure) so you may need to get the toe and camber/castor checked.

Dude has the car been in an accident?

Looks like the K-frame isnt "square" as the front end is out bu a few mill.

It probally needs to go to a panel beaters to be put on the rack and have the k frame adjusted

Cheers

Anthony

Well i don't know about you guys, but of the 2 VT's and 1 VX i have quick access too, i just did a check and they all have this. The front wheels sit further out then the right wheels on all of em, and none of them have been in accidents and 2 of them have stock wheels.

Maybe it's the way the chassis is seated on the frame?

just been to see a mate who is a panel beater and he thinks it has nothing to do with the k frame (he also checked the diaginals in the engine bay and its all square in there aswel) but he thinks it has something to do with the camber on the left side. he thinks it has something to do with the left side of the car being on the lower side of the road therefore having more weight and stress on it, in turn throwing out the camber and making the top side of the wheel stick out of the gaurd.
sent a sms to mate who done wheel alignment and he is coming up home after work for a chat about it since he is flat out at work and dont have time 4 a chat.

dam i hope its just the camber that way i can get me some coilover next year. i even have permission from the minister of finance, she said to me that i NEED to lower it cause it looks too high. i dont no how i will convince her i need that twin turbo or supercharger kit :)
