I'm building up a sleeper VX. Its gonna be a long process as the missus isn't as enthusiastic as I am. As a result I'm considering basically trying to get my hands on anything HSV.
My first step is HSV headers and cats with a view to getting sureflows or di fillipo cat back system. Does anyone have any advice regarding this. Is there much point going the HSV or am I just p!ssing into the wind? I'm after a pretty quiet system to keep the ol' bill off my back. Anyone have a similar setup with some sound files or KW numbers to throw around?
Cheers in advance

It all depends what you want out of the car Kev, if your just doing exhaust and tune then hsv arent too bad for the price but if you go further (heads, cam, or mafless) your better off getting tri-ys or 4 into 1s as they will give more benefits at higher power levels.
If cashflow is tight and you want them now then you can source a cheap set of hsv headers from the forum usually, else personally id be going straight for the aftermarket items as they flow and sound better

Thanks mate, I seen a couple of forum junkies with HSV exhausts holding down their garage floors. Probably look at a custom system at a later stage when I get some more funds. The bug keeps biting me as the cars been stock for 3 months now, longest I've ever owned a factory car, it just feels like the universe is wrong with no mods at all.
If you seen my other thread about me purposely trying to damage my exhaust by driving rough into the driveway you'd understand where I'm at.

good luck with the build mate, I don't if it's the same with panels but unless you have a build number they won't supply you with hsv parts.
Check out some wreckers or traiding post, ebay or even as some forum members here who still have their stock exhaust.

I understand that the VY2 HSV Headers are probably the way to go as they are heaps better than the previous ones. But i think these are short headers so you may need to replace cats as well.
