hey guys i thought i'd post a thread up relating to my experiences with the mods to my car just to help a few people out i guess. first of all, bought a late 02 vy sv8 around mid year 07 completely standard automatic.

1st mod- I went straight for a mafless tune which made 230kwatw(200kw before)
thoughts- awesome, completely transformed the car, better economy, heaps more grunt
cost- $950
2nd mod-went back and fitted vy clubby extractors(bought 2nd hand),high flow cats,twin 2 and 1/2 exhaust, 3.7 diff gears, otrcai and a retune(touch up) made 241kwatw
thoughts- this really woke the car up, much better drivabillity, much quicker through the gears, pulls nice and hard. the only downside i found about this was slightly higher fuel usage(at 110kmph its up 500revs)
cost-about $3800 drive in drive out(also had nolathane caster rod bushes fitted)
3rd mod-just fitted the HSV 'sport' brake upgrade which consists of 330mm front slotted and 315mm rear disks. still only twin piston front single rear
thoughts- very impressed, i am still only using the factory HSV pads but i am quite impressed. IMO was the best money i have spent as i didnt beleive the premium kit was needed in my application.
cost-$1800 landed on my door step

i hope this may help any new players to the game as it can be a little daunting to them......

ill be happy to answer any q's

cheers
