Does anyone know what the exact difference in the engines between the 180 kw engine and the 195kw alloytec engine. I guess its all in the computer tuning. It would be nice to hear that this is true. and how do i bring the 180 up to spec. Is it as easy as upgrading a jap dirt bike.

naah the 190 has infinitely variable camshaft timing or something.

I would think that the cams in each are different as well, as they make their power in very different ways.

Personally, I prefer the lower spec engine for the way it delivers its torque.... much less peaky IMO.

195 gets twin exhaust system as well.

My VX ex Cop Car used to go like a cut snake and it only had different tuning to the standard VX so i am asuming that maybe all i need to do with the VE is to change the Computer specs to add some extra KW as it was with the VX.

The Intake and Exhaust cams get variable phasing and also there is a valve in the intake manifold which changes the length of the runners.
And 2 oxygen sensors per bank.
On the 195 that is.

The 180 only gets single cam phase on intake and no manifold valve.

some workshops are starting to tune the alloytec but the gains arent massive from what ive seen (magazines and word of mouth). still with a 180kw version you could add an exhaust and CAI then have it tuned, youd be over 210-220kw (flywheel) then i imagine.

the differance between a ex cop car and a standard 6 is the chip and I think different diff ratio.
A few friends have run a vs,vt,vx standard and ex cop cars and there was only a half to full car length distance.

Sorry but cop cars are no different in power, gearing, suspension, exhaust to the ones you just buy from show room.
The only differences is basically cosmetic are the Police Pack checked Speedometer (incremented in 2's rather than 5's), and
a few other minor trim things, apart from the obvious Police radio, batons,
torches etc.

Most 9C1 or BT1 police packs get LSD diff and FE2 suspension.

I check Vin numbers all day and I see this all the time.

They get bigger alternators.. 120 amp usually and larger batterys and different compound brake pads.

Thats it. No computer chips nothing.
