I can't find any information after a search, so here goes....

Laser jammers are illegal in NZ but I'd like to explore the possibility of hooking up a jammer to a switching output from the Cruise Control module. This will enable me to set my cruise control to the legal speed limit, and then I over-ride the cruise control by using the accellerator to drive at a speed higher than the cruise control setting, road and traffic conditions permitting. Upon detecting a laser aimed at my car, the accoustic alarm will alert me to slow down quickly, and when I reach the cruise control speed setting it can switch off the jammer, allowing the traffic officer to get a (legal speed) reading...

Question: does anyone have a copy of the cruise control circuitry he/she can share with me? Failing that, I'd appreciate it if someone can direct me to the appropriate site to get this info.

How are you going to slow down quickly, without hitting the brake pedal or handbrake?

Either of these will automatically turn off the cruise control and therefore the jammer.

I've played with Laser jammers to see how well they work...and I have learned that they don't...work that is. None of them did and they didn't work at all. Not some of the time, not all of the time. Simply they didn't work full stop - except at maybe 20-30m range where they occasionly caused the Laser to miss a reading.

Now Laser detectors are a whole different story, but given the average laser speed detection device has measured, calculated and displayed your speed in <0.3sec, if you have been targeted it won't do you any good. The will assist when you get warned as a result of the 'spatter' generated from the testing of another poor sod's speed.

Cheers

Laser is more difficult to detect and thus jam at range... Due to the narrow pencil beam and line of sight they operate on if you detect it your pretty much screwed and jamming has to be more precise in its azimuth as if your not flooding directly at the receiver its useless. Laser Jammers do work well and are really simple in concept but by nature require precise alignment if you don't have a wide spread transmitter. Radar is a whole different story as is easier to detect and piss easy to jam. Its azimuth is quite wide and line of sight is not so much of an issue.
