Guys i'm in the process of buying one, i'm not sure which one yet. Who has brought one these and and felt a performance increase on the road, i.e does the car feel quicker after you have put one of the OTR's on? or any other OTR for that matter. I'm not looking for who has the best OTR but simply peoples experince with these two or other OTR's even on the LS1, because if it works on the LS1 it will work on the VE. Cheers Matt:).

Unfortunately that's not really true - the VE and L98 is a different kettle of fish to pre VE and LS1. If you haven't already done so check out what I said to in your previous thread which got closed - the comparison of VE OTRs Dan at Chipmaster did which are apparently on www.chipmaster.com.au. Doesn't include the Orrsom one yet I believe but should do soon.

No your wrong in saying if it works on the LS1 itll work on the VE..
they wont fit under the VE bonnet.
edit: wonky beat me :p

I'm ot talking about an OTR designed for an LS1 working on a VE, there would be fitting issues. What i was eluding to was that if an OTR can work on the 5.7L why can't it work on the 6L. I want to find out peoples experiences in performance terms with OTR's not just the Russo OTR and Orssom Performance OTR's:)

After having an otr on my vz and one for my new ve in the mail as we speak, id never go anything but an otr. When I traded my vz ute in I took the otr off and the change in performance was quite noticeable(the 2 hole mod didnt throw you back in2 the seat like the otr did!) plus the sound you get from them is awesome on the gas!!
Otr all the way:smilesandbanana:

Have the Orssom on my VUII, heaps better than std, but i had a tune at the same time so the difference was quite big. The sound is great at WOT and not to loud down low. They get dirty quick on the hwy in bad weather, have to stop tailgateing and sucking in the spray:confused:
Hope that helps

Its very hard to post OTR results because they work better on the road than on a dyno OTR's you can feel with your bum (heres mine:moon:) and at the track..

i have the CSV DTI.
with it and a mafless tune i gained 21rwkw on the dyno.
the response of throttle and induction noise is great.
the SOP feel after the CSV and mafless was simple :woohoo:

Don't get it dirty...
I would say yes you can feel the OTR over tne pod it replaced and I dropped about .3 off my times so I went from 13.2 to 12.9 with 2-3 mph gain.

what OTR did you go for in your VE lamont ?
im still undecided what to get.
I went the marranos one...It looks the goods.I would have gone the russo one because I think it would work better but as I was washing my car the other day with the high pressure hose I could see how much water was spraying directly into that area where the russo unit sits...me not being one to clean filters regularly made it an easy conclusion

so your saying you wish you bought the Russo one because when you wash your car it would wash the filter ?
from speaking to another member on here im more worried about water getting into my engine during rain and when washing it.

Wonky can you plese tell me your experiences with your OTR if you have one, cheers:)
My Orrsom/Sonny one was sent last week on Wed or Fri but hasn't arrived yet. :( I went for that one as it gives me the choice of MAF or MAFless, depending on what my insurance company and tuner say. I'm not necessarily after every single rwkw or fraction of a sec, though I anticipate they'll all be pretty close anyway.
Will let people know results (improvement over pod) when fitted and retuned, at least in my Wonkymobile thread in My Ride.
My second pod (black rubber pipe for factory look) will be for sale soon (first already sold).

No I meant that while I was washing my car i realized that water has a very direct path into the russo otr however that also means the cold air has the same direct path
