Hey all,
Tail lights stopped workin the other day and when hubby checked he found the plastic tail lamp assemblies are cracked and quite brittle.
He says they're a Hella part, found a number and all on the assembly but is having trouble finding the new wiring harness.
Anyone out there able to help me in the right direction for this...either OEM or aftermarket? The tail lights are standard 99 VT.
Thanks,

The wiring harness is available from any dealer, part number 92146915, roughly $35.
If it's a series 1 (looking at your id?) with the orange indicator lenses, you will have to buy the orange series 2 globes to suit, as the series 1 harness has superceded to the series 2 part number, and your old clear globe wont fit anymore.
SmurfVT1,
Given that your in WA give coventrys a try.
A previous owner of my old VT jammed the stoptail globe int he wrong way then taped the glose in place after they broke the socket.
I just dropped into Covs and they got me the right bit, was $28 a couple of years back..

Cheers for the feedback...I'll tell hubby to swing by Coventry's (he's there nearly all the time anyway) and ask...it is the set of lights with one for the stop and one for the coloured globe.

Smurf...check your PM :)
I did and went a reply...not enough posts it says to do so...?
You got a photo you can send ... and is that both sides in the loom, hubby's not sure if they may be separate....?
Thanks!
from memory it is all one harness.. THe guys at Coventrys when they are searching for the part basically have a visual breakdown of the cars parts so you should be able to see how it all breaks down..

$30.50 per loom from Coventry's folks, hubby popped over to check them out. Anyone replaced these before? Hubby's bitching and moaning that he has to take the lining out of the boot to find where the connection is for the loom. Is that right or is he on the worng track-and not the first time!

It has been a while since I actually did the change over, but Im pretty sure you will have to remove part of the lining to get access to the harness.
