Hey guys,

I'v been saving my pennies and my latest chrissie presents have pushed me over the edge and i'm now looking at either a Harrop blower or a GenTT kit.

But, before i put down all my hard earned cash, i was wondering whether anyone in the Melbourne area who has a GenTT or Harrop kit fitted would be willing to give me a ride so i can see the differences between the two?

It'd be much appreciated!

Might be an idea to call a few of the sponsors in Melbourne and see if they can help you out with a test drive in either or both, one of them should be able to help.

I agree.
For fairly understandable reasons, people with these sorts of cars don't tend to be too open to the thought of a stranger (a) finding out about their car/where they live etc, and (b) giving their car what we all know will be a fair boot to the redline a few times...
I'm sure the installers of these products will be open to this sort of request.

True, but the result/potential drama is the same isn't it?
I don't know anyone that would let a total stranger near their high performance car (no matter how honest the person asking), unless a seriously trustworthy friend could vouch for their honesty!
Perhaps you are a bit more trustworthy.

I should have my ute back on the road within a week (if i get off my lazy are and stop drinking beer on my holidays), if you wanna come for a spin in GenTT Ute give me a yell. Its not 100% finished on the tune (i have a couple of issues to sort and some more dyno time) but 314rwkw with a shitload more to go should give you an idea. I reckon we might be able to organise a little test drive. And looking by your details "Marios" is 10 mins from my house.

Thanks a lot for the offer Jez. I'll PM you my details so you can let me know when you're free.

As far as other peoples posts, i completely understand people's hesitation in letting a complete stranger off a forum on the internet know their address and what kind of car they own. I think that's fair enough - but some people i suppose are more trustworthy then others.

Personally i'v gone for a ride in two forum members cars before and given one a ride in mine.

But, just last week i sold some wheels on ebay and had two blokes come and pick them up from my house. They spent a good 5 minutes looking at/commenting on my car which made me feel very uneasy. I made sure my car was locked up tight for the next few days. So i understand peoples apprehension.

Mate i got no problem with anybody driving my car so long as i'm with them :D I only suggested a forum sponsor because they might have two cars in their stable already set up the way you possibly want to go and save you some running around.
Good of you to offer jezzab

Some people are very quick to judge. I can understand the point of not letting someone know where they live and where their car is parked. But whats wrong with meeting some where and going for a drive. And if the owner feels comfortable, letting said person drive once they have got to know them a bit.

Alot of ppl have driven my ute, i dont mind as long as im with em (hell i threw a certain member i barely knew the keys when i had a GenPD [who just happens to be a VERY good friend now] but things are a bit different now). Seems to be the GenTT DIY test drive ute lol! Most people are respectful and im sure a quick uppercut to the jaw from the pass side if they were not being respectful would get the message across  usually its me screaming "Punch it PUNCH IT!!!"

Its cool, I love it and I like other people to be able to enjoy it like me and make up their mind on power delivery (twin screw or twin hair dryers).
