I am in a quandary. I see there is a few new GTO's still around at good money. I am tempted to change the Z for 1. (Provided it is yellow:))

While I bought the Z to drive I also intended to keep it long term (if i can stop driving it) and wonder what the longer term worth of each will be. Anyone want to contribute their thoughts.

Changeover looks to be in the area of $35,000 on road, a little more than I thought it would be (values the Z at about $38k). Anyone seen any sold recently to give me an indication of value. Mine has 35,000+ks on it and very tidy except for a couple stone chips.

Those that drive the GTO, are they much harsher suspension wise. I am not looking for a race car these days just something I can enjoy touring in, as I do with the Z.

Thanks for your thougths.

Search is definitely your friend and I did not do it carefully enough. Thanks Davo.

I was also looking for what the current value of CV8Z's were perceived to be and also the defference in ride as well. Any comments

GTO for sure--hard to argue with the LS2!
Cheers, Pickles.

or you can get a 2004 model for 40ish and stick in a 408 with the change :D

I much prefer the look of the CV8Z personally, but the LS2 is such a better engine.

I personally don't go much on the "batmobile" and prefer the lines of my CV8 (in Yellow of course :) )

Totally agree.
Although this thread is really just going down the path that every other one like it has, the purity of the "basic" Monaro doesn't look as "bastardised" to my eyes, especially in a longer term sense.
The Americanisation of the VZ Monaro shape over the earlier versions doesn't really do it for me personally, but either the Monaro or the GTO would no doubt keep you happy.
