The camaro is such a good tough looking car, and then you see the interior..Hmm Pass.

A friend of mine who saw the interior of my SSV said that it was boring and cheap.. He would love this comaro...

Yuck .

I appreciate there is an Aussie design team however I one assumes the interior design was directed from the good old USof A and reflects represents bad taste USA 2008. When the yanks stuff things up they stuff it up good.

The Camaro wont be coming to Australia through Holden but will most likely reach our shores as a small quantity import similar to the new Mustang, expect to pay around $150K and more for a production model.

I love the outside and hate the inside 100/150k for that interior ....no thanks.

I think the interior looks the same as the concept. Don't forget that these proto's don't have grained plastic or anything yet. I think they have done a good job

That is yet to be confirmed or denied, with the caddy and chev dealer roll out, but its very likely the monaro replacement, unless the torana concept can fly.

I really hope GM brings this car here. The interior is a bit of a let down but nevertheless its still a beauty.

Looks like a wide open sea of plastic. :spew: Typical american cheep plastic interior, wait, these pics are from Australia right?? :D Hopefully the production interior will turn out better, for GM and the mulletheads sake.

I'd take a Holden interior anyday over ANY Camaro. Great materials, fit and finish. Truthfully, these pics will probably help increase the value of my GTO.

Anyone else notice how the seatbelt comes from the seat and clicks into the seat aswel ?

hows that ment to keep you safe ?

I actually like it, but i dont think you should really criticize it just yet as its obviously still just a hand built cobbled together test hack, and probably isnt a true representation of final interior fit and finish.

Also, wonder what those Vic. registered SSV and Maloo were doing on a truck in Europe, and what is that colour green? Must be a new one as its certainly not Atomic. Really suits the car i reckon.

Exactly right, especially the bits held together with black race tape.

You can't make a judgment on the interior until its got all production level parts in it

Yeah, i'm glad that's just a pre-prod car.

Coz if the final product is anywhere near that :spew:I'm not even thinking of buying it.

Can't you buy a C6 Vette for that out here. I would like to think that it would be around the 90-100K. They definately need to market it to the performance enthusiast but 150K would be too much.

I agree, it is obviously nowhere near production ready - with its SS seats and all. So let's hold off until the final version is revealed.

I'm pretty sure the colour is 'crunch'. Looked horrid in pics and on the Holden and HSV websites but there is a Crunch GTS at Aspley HSV and it looks great!

I am basing my assumption on the basis that these cars will be privately imported and ADR'd and converted similar to the new model Mustangs. They cost around $150K for a relatively base model and up to $235K for the Saleen Extreme with a 540kw supercharged V8.

V-Car: As Venture points out I think you'll find that particular colour is 'Crunch'....just lke mine :D . And yeah it looks better in the flesh than on the GMH site. Took me a couple of looks at it to decide I liked it though, it's a curious colour.

As for why they might be in Europe? Perhaps those cars might wind up being Vauhalls ?

It looks less offensive with some 'computer enhancement' applied to the pic. Straight up from that recent article, I'd say it looks a bit nasty.

I really hope the Holden stylists didn't have anything to do with it. I'd be disappointed if they did.

I'm not sure what goes through the minds of GM stylists in the US sometimes. I hired a C6 in Vegas last February and I couldn't get past the dash in it..For a premium car, they could have applied a bit more taste and used better plastics.

Lovely looking car outside though. :)

The second bit about styling is in reference to the original Camero Topic...messed up the post a tad

I would think this truck was in Australia. If these cars were sent to europe for testing, they would not have the VIC plates on them. You are looking at an aussie test mule IMO.

Yes, the Camaro is an Aussie test mule, but, i say its in Europe because the writing on the truck belongs to a German company.

And if it was Australia, then those pics would have been taken a long time ago last winter, look at the trees, long before the Maloo was released.
Nah, they are new pics, and its winter now in Europe.

Yes, i thought of crunch, but i feel crunch is a little more yellow than green, but it could just be the photo.
This colour reminded me more of the old XY Falcon colour called Limelight Green.

The website advertised on the side of the truck is not Australian. Looks German. Why would they advertise on the side of a truck in Oz ?

Didn't even catch that. Good eye.

http://jalopnik.com/339979/2009-chevrolet-camaro-first-interior-shots

One of our European operatives caught this full stable of high- performance Holden test cars--including the new Camaro--between Denmark and Sweden, en route to the frigid arctic circle testing grounds. The encounter provided the best, most detailed look at the Camaro, including the first shots of the car's interior

this HOPEFULLY is not the final interior
post by Scott Settlemire (member of the camaro team at chevy)
" 4. Interior pictures are very misleading. As I said above, many of the parts are either pre-production -- 'off the shelf' parts to serve as placeholders -- or hard plastic and used only as a 'stand in.'
(Remember when I said a few weeks ago that the hips didn't disappear? Remember that a few of you didn't believe me? )"

Any connection with a Mustang is silly to say the least.
- The concept was designed in Oz on the Zeta.
- Prototpyes have come off the Fish Bend site according to people here
- Aussies always design left and right together it's so much easier to do it that way.
- Any imports therefore are alreayd designed into it unlike the Mustang that has no RHD versions at all.

I expect it to be around the price of a Monaro especially with the Aust/US dollar rate is close to $1Aus to $.90US.

I'm just wondering if they might do some assembly here from break down kits. Anything is possible. Anyway how did the stamping of the prototypes get done? Somewhere in the world there are some big arse stamps for the panels. Are they here in OZ?
