as stated above after driving to queensland and back, every time the accelerator is released my body moves forward, this is particularly strong in forth gear, the feeling is similar to when i accelerate hard in 1st and then step on the clutch to grab second. anyone have a clue to what is wrong?

Is your fuel economy effected? If it is, there may be something slowing your running gear down, like brakes or a dodgy wheel bearing or something like that. It could be a stuck brake pad, a misadjusted handbrake cable, or maybe fishing line or wire or something wrapped around your tailshaft or diff.

Engine compression? I.e. not used to driving a high compression/ high capacity manual?

does your inst. fuel readout read 0.0l/100km when you back off? its not just dfco kicking in?

Hold down mode & set while you start your car. Then use mode to cycle through the menu till you get to the Instantanious fuel read out. ;)

Deceleration Fuel Cut Off

Bit of an explanation:

Deceleration fuel cut-off, cuts fuel using two methods:
1. under low load coasting conditions, eg, in gear coasting down a hill.
2. on Manual (M6) equipped cars where the fuel may be very quickly shutoff during gearshifts, this is called DFCO M6.

We dont use DFCO M6 in our cars

sounds odd, perhaps check out your throttle body carefully. do you have a tune? possible throttle follower calibration seriously out of whack? how long has it been like this (always or just now?) questions questions!
