I just bought some engine covers to replace the turtle shell. Do these need a paint job, or is that purely a cosmetic thing??

I went for the looks and got them professionally done by a paint shop for $150 .................two pac paint as well !!
If you wanna spend !!

Aww yea sounds good...i gotta get a guard done so might as well hey!! What colour did you go? Got a Quicksilver VY and don't know what colour would go.

Mate, the color of my car is Delft Blue hence I went for this to keep the color together but I reckon red would be awesome !!

There is few color matches here if you do a search !!

yeaha colour coding always looks the best, engine covers to car overall colour!!

Agreed colour code them unless they are the genuine $850+:shock: GTS300KW units, then I would leave them alone.

See below... Even the wifey reckons they look good painted. :evil: $150 at my local panel beater.

I have no idea why the genuine ones are that much.... also just seen that Holmart have them for $825(+posted) http://holmart.com.au/online/prod729.htm

I was shocked at the price of original GTS 300 covers too..

Have been looking for a while now and finally came across some copies. In black Gel coat for $200 all up with postage :)

Not too shabby I thought
