anyone know where i would find this in the fuse box under the steering wheel in a vt2 ?
cigarette lighter has not worked since i bought the car and just got a gps which i would like to charge in the car.

middle row, third from the bottom it should be.

thanks mate! just got my lazy ass out and had a look ! not the bloody fuse , replaced it and still doesnt work ( would have been too easy ) . any ideas what it might be ? anyone got any pointers on how to diagnose and how to remove to have a look?

The next easy option would be to check the fuse in the item you're plugging into the socket. The tip should unscrew and house a fuse.
If thats alrite, then you might need to check the socket itself

yeah is definently the socket ... never has worked
ther are two bolts that sit either side of the socket might remove and have a look.
anything i should look for other than not connected terminals ?

not that i can think of.
The two screws you refer to will allow you to unclip the facia around the gearshift.
If its manual, unclip the boot round the outside.
Pull up on the facia and it'll unclip. start from the back.
Also, i you have power windows, unplug the harness.
Once thats out, you'll be able to unscrew the console door. (2 screws)
once thats gone that should give you enough room to either remove, or at least inspect the cigarette lighter.
Could just be corroded / old, or a loose connection
