I just picked up delivery of a 2007 Nickel VE SS. From the first day I picked her up, both the front doors produce an ominous creaking sound over potholes, cat eyes and speed bumps. The sound I've checked the rubbers on the doors, and there are no cracks or inconsistencies.
Now, I'm not sure if this is an acceptable artifact of the stiff suspension, or if it's sloppy design on Holden's part. Or is this something I need to speak to the stealership about? Can I cure it with some WD40? :eyes:

i have a SSV with over 20,000km now and have been experiencing the creaking lately.
had the same in my VT & VX
didnt have it on the SSV from new or when i had lovells springs on but now with the coilovers and sitting very low and being a stiffer spring than both the factory and the lovells i am putting it down to firmness.
its like the doors are moving on the seals or like the chassis is sort of twisting/moving as parts of the car go over speed bumps, etc
also with my dad in the car the other day he did say there was a lot of road noise coming in the cabin...not sure if anyone else is same or not....
i wont bother taking mine to the dealership as i will have the coilovers blamed for it...
is ur car lowered?
if not best try and dealership and see what they say....
let me know how u go please as if it is a problem not caused by suspension i will see if i can get mine sorted but it doesnt bother me unless i have the stereo completely turned off...then i hear the creaks

EXCESSV, Your description is spot on. No, she isn't lowered, but...
About 10 days ago I sent my car in to the dealership to replace the tires (on warranty). Prior to handing it over to them I WOULD hear the creaks, but only on extreme road conditions. After they changed the tires (they replaced them with the same Yokohoma stocks that it originally came with), the ride quality has been noticeably harsher, and the creaks are more often. I think it's either because the tires are new (and this is then normal), or they have the tire pressure all wrong (in which it's an easy fix).
I'll check the tire pressure tomorrow and see what happens. I'm really peeved off at myself today because I took a turn too close to the curb and ended inflicting a 3cm scratch on my outside rear wheel. It's nothing, but I hate it when things like that happen.
Call me anal btw, but I've noticed that the sound is directly linked to the weather. The colder it is, the more incessant the sound
