Well I was driving along roberts road in hurstville heading towards chullora in the 70k zone. I kinda ducked in and out of traffic that was going 50 and speed up, however I don't know if I went past the 70k mark. But coming down the road doing 60 (that's what the speed was when I looked down though I did slow down) I seen two coppers standing on the side of the road. One had a radar gun pointing at me while the other copper was talking to a pulled over car that probably got booked for speeding. I seen no HWP car though when I drove past the copper put the gun down looking at me with a smirk.
So am I gonna be getting a fine sent to me in the mail IF I was speeding, if I was it would of been 5-10ks over but I really don't know so I guess im gonna have to wait?

If it was a radar I would say your safe. If it was a camera I think you should expect a fine if he was smirking at YOU.
Have you had your speedo corrected yet??? I remember you wrote a post a while back about you almost being done and that you knew your speedo was out. Hope it has been fixed :)

Short answer no. If they are going to fine you after the act they will need photograhpic evidence.

Um no not yet I really haven't had time to book the car into a shop.

Well that's what my step dad said, if they were gonna get ya you would of seen a flash or they would of waved you down or a hwp would be on your ass.

your step-dad is correct, if they wanted to book you they would have waved you down or chased after. my guess is you were just over the limit but slowing (they have to take two readings in most circumstances), and he was smirking to say "almost got you".

The point would have been to let you know he pinged you for being over the limit and to slow down, the smirk probably being a "you're lucky this time" as they had someone to book already. Also you may have not been over by enough for him to bother. If the copeers pulled over everyone that was over the limit by any amount there'd be traaffic backed up to buggery, usually they just go after the ones that are a fair whack over the limit, unless it's quiet and they're bored, then they'll get whoever they can.

Yeah I've had the smirk before, stupidly gunned the Caprice to move around traffic that was going 40km/hour in a 60. Prob hit 80 before realising the traffic was slowing down because of the speed gun pointed at it. Thankfully the copper had it pointed in the wrong direction. He looked at me in disbelief and let the gun drop for a while as he watched me speed by, induction roar and all.

I hate that how traffic slows down below the speed limit when they see a copper or fixed camera, you won't get done for doing the limit. Worst are the ones who go from 10k's over to 15 k's under, then gun it again once they pass the camera.
