This is my first post, so with it let me say hello to all the other forum members and readers.

I was curious to see if a maloo hard lid can be fitted to a standard ve ss ute, or would i need to get all the other maloo body kit bits, the reason i ask is becuase i dont like how the standard lids overhang, i have one on backorder for my ute.

thanks
dave

you'd need to get the maloo sailplane too mate... that bit that comes off the rear of the cabin to 'extend' it...
other than that i'm sure it could be made to fit

hey

I know i'm in a different state to you but i have seen a couple of VE utes with the maloo hardtop on a SS and they didnt overhand at all. And i'm sure it wasnt a previous model. Also this didnt have the sailplane on it. Dont know where you would get one from though

That's quite funny seeing as the VE hardtops aren't available yet. There have only been a handful made and they are for display purposes. The production lines are full of backorders and you'll only see the hardtop appear in March/April/May when the factories start pumping them out.

And it's simple fact that you will have to have the sailplane fitted if you want a maloo hardcover. Otherwise it's going to be too short. I'm not sure what dream you saw these couple of utes in, but you need to be reminded they were infact, dreams.

i dunno what planet your on but, being a employee at holden, ive seen fittments of the ve hard tops and shit loads of them...they are heaps around and plent of people not happy with the finished product eg fittment aound the sides and the over hang at the rear...
ive hurt they have a flat lid like the vy lid planed foe the ve ute

I am not sure if it can be done as the tailgate on the VE Maloo is different.

HSV use a VE sedan boot lock assembly mounted in the tailgate to remote lock the hard lid.

i dunno what planet your on but, The PRP hardlid is on Stop sale ATM.

So they are not fitting any currently.

My hard cover's not the best fit either (VZ SS), at the sides up the front where the cover meets the 'sill' I s'pose you'd call it, where the hardcover rolls downwards it's rubbed the paint off the side of me ute :vpo:

Not happy jan, meh, I'll prolly get some sandpaper an shave it down, but then I gotta get touch up paint from super shit and touch it up, thanks heaps holden :flipoff:

made by the same company who makes the maloo lid. it suits so much better than the one with the overhang!
