Fitting 58mm Tips on 50mm Pipes

Does anyone know if it possible to fit 58mm tips on 50mm pipes.I was told that you are able to flare the 50mm pipe to 58mm.Has anyone had this done before.Some help would be greatly appreciated.

hey mate im a boilermaker and hav done it a couple times before, u should hav no worries flaring it out to 58mm

I'm assuming the 50mm pipes are on the car already and you want to weld the 58mm ones to them??

If so cut 6 to 8 20mm slots in the tips and step them down, weld them up then tack em to the 50mm pipe.

this is what ive always seen, never heard of flaring the tail pipes.
