hi guys,

I have just purchased a 2001 VX Clubsport. It's a 6 speed manual, sting red.

It has done 130,00k's (HWY), however it has been in storage for the 12 months, and I am curious as to what precautionary measures I should be taking now that it will be on the road most days.

I am new to LS1's however not new to getting my hands dirty.

So far my checklist is, change all fluids and filters, and then take it in to get the 130,000k's service reminder cleared.

Is there anything else I do?

Cheers

Hey mate congrats on the car. Do a search, there's plenty of threads about how to clear the service reminder which will save going to the mechanic. I wouldn't imagine there'd be too many things you'd need to check. Personally I'd warm the car into harder driving though, like over a period of a week progressively drive it a harder/rev the engine more etc. Just a personal thing, I'm sure many people will just say to get into it :eyes:. I'm sure if there's any bushes worn, etc they'll make themselves apparent after some more kays are on the clock. My SS has done 150,000km and it still going strong :)

All the fluids, perhaps spark plugs and leads, air and fuel filter if you're feeling really keen, (oil filter you'll no doubt do when ya do the oil.)

Other than that i'd say you'd be pretty right :)

Look at the tyre age, they will lose their grip over time, and failure of the case itself increases also with age and storeage.
