Been a very hectic time getting cars ready for Motovation this year , we had in excess of 30 car to get sorted in the lead up to the event , especially since the headline car we had been getting ready for the event - the 1200hp GTO wasnt going to able to make the treck from Kalgoolie due to work commitments.
Next in line powerwise was the old XH ute that runs a 347 windsor but that we had converted to Holden fuel injection years ago to go blown , it was decided that this car would step up again this year at the last moment a week before the show to see how far i coudl be pushed , SQP sorted out a new cam combo , Mark from MWS screwed it all together and upped the anti on the blower and the intercooler ( these are street cars so no dry ice or one shot specials on these puppies ) and I modified the system to enable the Holden ECU to go to 3 bar as we where expecting to see 20 psi on this combo.
During testing we found we had maxed the airflow of the V7 so we couldnt screw anymore than 20 psi into the motor so had to then extract every last hp out of the combo if we were going to make some serious numbers.
A few frantic days of tuning and we had eclipsed the 900 hp mark fairly easily seeing a best of 960 rwhp with no temp correction ( IT and AT the same as ambient ) on normal fuel
Best on the day was only 914hp though as it kept spinning the tyres at the top end so we where 20kph away from where we would normally rev it to , and posiibly the higher barometric pressure was showing the inefficiencys of the blower earlier.
There where some huge IAT discrepancys on some of the cars I saw run , up to 60 deg in some cases but we specifically asked the dyno operator to keep the IAT probe out of the engine bay in from of the car to get accurate results.
It was enough though to take out Motovation HP hero this year as well as top supercharged.

Next in line was a 402 CV8Z , this car was also stepped up for motivation as far as we felt safe on the std LS2 block and 10 rib belt system on the car runnign 15 psi of boost in its full street trim on pump fuel to take out 2nd place with 894hp

Next in line and third was a VE GTS , again with a mild street 402 and a t trim blower running on pump juice as well to score a 756hp run.

And the only other car we were able to run up due to the VERY limited spaces on the dyno was Marks own HZ with a 402 and a strim Vortech combo for 611 hp.
