Evening,

Have an option on the above metioned car.

Has done 100k, bought from Eagers in Brissy and owned from new by TELSTRA. Would have been a nice executive ride for some lucky prick.

BTW it is Yellow with black leather and all of the standards.

Would it have been cared for in the hands of Telstra folk and what do you think that a reasonable price would be?

Cheers,

Hogs,:)

Well I am in the market for one and they go anywhere from 36 to 42 but that's less then 80,000 on the clock so maybe mid 30's. Yellow and black leather is the best, I wanted yellow but might be taking red instead from a dealership.

Evening,

Yeah, this yard has 44k on it and that will have onroads as well. They have a tradition of putting big $ on their cars hoping that some sucker will take the bait.

Cheers,

Yeah 44k is a bit much but they will probably drop it down to 40k after a few weeks like the dealership im looking at. They reckon they had it advertised for 45k and dropped it to 39990 after 30 days of it sitting in the yard.

Cheers, Pickles.

The first CV8-R (V2 SII) came out in Turbine Mica and the other one (V2 SIII) was Pulse Red, if I recall.

korrput is spot on, thats not a CV8R. both models also had cream leather from memory too, not black.

Technically all Telstra vehicles *should* be in good nick 'cos they are usually happy to pay for any any servicing required and the vehicles are meant to be keep clean and well maintained by the "user" (and be regularly checked by managers) .. however this all depends on the individual. Some people are just plain lazy and can't be bothered taking cars in for regular servicing, cleaning them, etc. Some also think that as it's not their car they can just cane snot out of it at every opportunity. So I suppose like all secondhand vehicles its a bit of a gamble and just take your best educated guess ..

I bought a 2004 HSV GTO for $44k

A CV8R (if it is one) is worth mid 30's at best.

I believe it would not be a CV8R and if you willing to part with 40K + buy a GTO..... check carsales.com.au..... plenty of em and lower km also.....

I have fond memories of my LS1 powered Telstra fleet car. It did everything better than any other LS1 powered Commodore!!:):)

G'Day,

Thanks for the feedback folks.
Interesting that it has CV8R rims on it and definately has the black leather.
This therefore means that Telstra approved non standard rims as part of the package or the dealer changed them I suspect.

It was originally purchased through Eagers in Brisbane and still carries the QLD plates.
If I can quote the plate no can one of the Brissy boys get any info on it

Given that it is not a real CV8R what would it then be worth, 2003?

Cheers,

Hogs.:)

I doubt a serious buyer of an '03 Monaro with 100ks on it would offer any more than $30K cash :)

Even on carsales (over inflated prices), private sellers are ASKING:

'02 Silver, 77,000 - $27K
'02 w/Harrops, exhaust etc 92,000 - $30K
'02 Black, 68,000 - $30.5K
'03 S3 Barbados 99,000 - $31k
'03 Yellow 35,000 - $32.9K

Remember these are ASKING prices only :yup:

It's not a CV8R (only has CV8R rims), and has done well over the average expected k's. What sort of condition is the seat leather in (driver's side/bolsters etc) ??
I reckon it's worth very low $30k's.

Evening,

Sorry folks, it is actually a CV8Z first registed in Oct 05>

My stuff up, but even so has 100k on the clock so I reckon $44k is still a bit steep.

Cheers,

Ah, this one:

http://liveimages.carsales.com.au/dealer/carsales/9334860.jpg

Unfortunately, the CV8Z market is still full of owners clinging onto the hope that Holden didn't fool them into handing over bulk cash for a run-out model with very little in the way of features, but a whole lot of marketing propaganda

Only 2nd behind the 20th Anniversary Clubsport scam

The mileage is the killer. It's a lot of k's for a two & a half year old car.
$44k is a bit high - maybe high $30's is closer to the mark.

Hi Hogs. Regardless of the ks, I would more consider the condition the car is in and the service history. Im am sure they would be mostly country ks on long trips etc. Have a gander at carsales and that will give you an idea what they are advertised for.

In my opinion 44 is a bit high, I would be thinking high 30's?
