Doesn't sound over the top for a metal substrate cat inc labour, but depends on what brand. How come only one?

only 1 because its for my VLT, have the 3inch mandrel bent exhaust already but always had a standard cat blocking it up (2 1/4) restriction i know but it was only to run the new donk in... this weekend shes going in for the final pieces and a tune up.

OK, makes sense. Should have realised it was not necessarily for the SS. Do you know what brand? If Magnatech you can probably land them here at the moment for well under $A200 each.

ill find out tomorrow when i call him, but yeah i was just wondering whether to go ahead or shop around.. need to get this done before the car goes over to the workshop on saturday so i dont really have a lot of time to shop. if its reasonable then ill just go for it.

Yeah. I paid $200 each for 3" stainless Magnaflow cats. If you hunted around you could probably get them cheaper from overseas. Stainless 3" flanges were $10 each.

I just got 2 Magnaflow Stainless metal cat's delivered from tuff car parts, he has an ebay site, $430 including delivery that was for 3" inlet/outlet ones as well :) Getting fitted on Friday by local shop who said if I can get them at that price then do it cause they couldn't get them wholesale for that.
I would've thought about $400 each was reasonable. Curious to hear anyone's opinion on what brand/s would be the best to go on my LS1. I'm going the Difilipo 1 3/4" four into one's so thought I'd go the Difilipo 3" cats but if someone can recommend one that's as good or better for a cheaper price I'd go with that.
