Hey guys just wondering if i could get some tips of how to lose the cabin drone and keep the deep grunt. I got a vt SS 5.7 auto and have advanced headers, aftermarket cats and a twin 2.5 system.
I wasn't overly happy with the sound i.e not loud enough. I got the rear resonator removed and i'm happy with the sound when idling and when givin it some stick but general cruising can really get in your head.
What would you suggest to possibly do to lose the drone but keep it loud if not louder. Budget is a bit tight....just bought a house so dont wanna dig too deep.
Cheers

Put the resonator back on to eliminate drone and change the front muffler(s).

I'd recommend going to a number of exhaust places and see what they say because it depends on your current set up. Take what they say with a grain of salt because some of them will tell you all sorts of crap but after talking to a number of them you'll start to work out what's crap and what's not.
Possibly some hotdogs will give the volume you want without reintroducing the drone.

Yeah i was thinking along the lines of putting some hotdogs in the central positions. Ive heard that they can decrease power, is this correct?

I've got twin 2 1/2" with no middle mufflers but a large rear muffler(resonator). sounds good, not overly loud and only a tiny bit of drone. If I was changing an old system I would probably try the hotdogs in place of the middle mufflers.

you got to put the back resonator back on or something else & cut out the middle one, drone free for me

straight out tips, same size as pipes can certainly reduce the drone.
Bigger tips, and down pointed can make it worse.
