Hello All, was wondering if anyone has ever changed their brake pads on a VZ R8 which has the four piston calipers and what you need to push the pistons back into the calipers ?

Pretty certain you need a 'G' clamp, and block of wood to press the pistons back into the caliper.

Get a good clamp though, a cheap one will just break.

Also, keep an eye on the brake fluid level/reservoir... cause it can backup/out as you push the pistons back into the calliper.

Ditto on the good 'G' clamp + block of wood

Definately not a tough job to do but as said watch out for an overflowing brake reservior as this will stuff your engine bay paintwork! (Yep ive done it on an old car accidentally)

I just lift the pads out
And use whats left of the old ones as a lever to push 2 pistons back at a time
Do one pad at a time so the disc doesn't flop around

To get a clamp in there is a pain when still on car ... not much room in there

Kincrome used to make a pad spreader for 4 pots but they discontinued it
