VY SS headlight install

Hi Guys,

I own a VY Exec with a VY SS front bar and foggies and have just picked up a set of VY SS headlights. A mate has told me to install them you need to take the front bar off and its easy to split the wiring for the foggies and to warp the bar when you take it off.

Does anyone know if its safe to take the front bar off and if possible, can you give me some advice in how to take it off and how to install the new headlights?

Easy enough to remove the front bar, I had mine off recently for the intercooler fitment.

*Remove the 3 screws holding the grille in. Underneath the rego plate will be 3 plastic trim screws, remove them

*Remove the 2 screws in wheel arch each guard. One holds bar to panel, the other to the plastic splash guard.

*unplug foglight wiring

*Working with a friend, gently pull the bumper near one wheel arch so it comes away from the vehicle so it pops free. Your mate should do the same once you have your side free.
After that, the bumper is off.

Its also a good idea to put a towel on the ground so you don't scratch the bar, especially if your doing it on your own.

Cheers guys, so the front bar won't warp easily. Do you know how to get detach the wiring/remove the old headlights and then put the new ones on?

No the front bar wont warp. the head lights are held in by 10mm bolts, 3-4 on each light.

one bolt on the front hence bumper removal and from memory there is only another 2 on top at each end and thats it. The headlight just unplugs, simple enough....

done it many times, undo the bolts and pull from each side!
