View Full Version : Blue Pacemaker Tri Y & Open HSV Cats
Looking into adding a set of Blue Pacemaker Tri Y Extractors & Opening the HSV Cats to my VY Clubsport, in addition to the existing mods of MCAI, Mafless tune & X Force 2.5" Catback.
Quoted so far $880 all up from a reputable source recommended by one of the senior ls1 guys.
Just wanted feedback or experience on whether the price is about right for what getting done as well as whether I'll need a touch up on the mafless tune/ dyno or will the computer sort itself out.
Being told the volume of exhaust won't neccessarily increase however off the mark she'll be flying.
cheers

$880? Sounds like a top price mate... I paid $770 for a set for my old VX S and quoted $1100 for Ceramic Coated Pacemakers for my VZ SV6... where did you get this quote if you dont mind me asking?

Thanks Girvo = just did a few more calls to a few other reputable places range from $950 to $1080
Rob @ Ultimate Performance Exhausts = Brendale Qld where the $880 quote secured.
That sounds like a pretty good price mate, try Toys Custom Exhausts at Redcliffe, they do great work and they're competetively priced too. I got quoted $1250 for paceys and a dual 2.5" system a few months ago.

Appreciate your help Phil - just gave them a bell & for the Blue Pacemaker Tri Y & Open HSV Cats being given around $790 - pretty good - they've recommended getting the tune touched up - around $100 at PT. Thanks again another option to consider - also checked with my insurance company to include the new extractors an extra $30 per year - well worth noting

Hi,
Sounds pretty good on price.
To open up the cats is simple, and would need to be done anyway to match the bigger exhaust manifold piping.
Tune should be fine, nothing major changed.
If in doubt, give one of the tuners a call and ask.
Main change you will notice will be the sound.
Cheers,
John
All set to go tomorrow morning = as a courtesy to Rob @ Ultimate Exhausts as he is well used by a few of the senior ls1 forum mbrs = gave him a bell to let him know of other price secured. Rob agreed to match the figure so Tri Y Pacies ordered in to put in as well as open the HSV cats.
Thanks to everyone who gave their experiences and thoughts = by default saved $100 on the original figure.
An update = and I'm still smiling from Ear to Ear with the additional low to mid range torque as well as a more deeper note - Geez Life is Great!!
Gotta love the mod options available to customise your pride & joy to what & where you want & this LS1 Forum is THE PLACE where at last you'll find various learnings & experiences to help you begin your modding journey.
Cheers
