most weird this morning. just leaving home going very slow about 20 -30ks
and i hear this loud metallic scrapping noise. thought maybe the radio so turn it off, still there even louder, really metallic sound, really grindy scrapping sorta sound, backed off, start slowing more sound decreasing speed with the car. thought maybe handbrake pulled that on get the loud usual clunk when you do that. sound still there, start increasing speed it goes away and never heard it the rest of the trip.

most weird, never had that sorta noise before. didn't seem to be any particular side, just seemed to come from the whole boot, like it was attached to the body directly.

Might be a small rock lodged between the brake rotor/caliper/backing plate.
I had this happen once - sounded really bad. Pushed a screwdriver through the wheel & pushed the backing plate a bit & a small stone dropped out (with one nice flat side from all the rubbing & grinding).
