There's been a lot of whining about the fit and finish of the VE hardlid. I've also said that they haven't been made yet, that any hardlids you've seen are aftermarket.
So, if your hardlid, or ones you have seen looks different to the image which I have uploaded as a timeslip (Sorry, don't know how to upload images onto threads, I'm sure someone will find it) then you have an aftermarket one.
To clarify this though, the image I have uploaded is a Holden endorsed hardlid, and not a Holden Genuine. The Holden Genuine actually has a light on that lip at the rear, and is wired for central locking. Everything else will be identical.
I personally think it looks mint.

Can anybody confirm this? If so, I'll be asking for a swap on my ute ;)

You say any cover that does not look like your pic is not genuine then go onto to say the genuine one is different to your pic.

Mine is a genuine hard lid. The light is inside the cover, not on the lip. The covers are not identical. They are actually very different in styling. Mine has to low profile humps, the new one does also have two but they join behind the rear window. The new one does not have a lip at the rear and is higher than the original.
At this stage the new cover is a Holden genuine part, it even has a Holden part number and covered by Holden warranty. They are also looking at fitting the central locking and light to the new ones.
Some rumors on here are stating Holden are using the same supplier as the original batch, not true they have been dumped and the contract awarded to new supplier.

Same here mate, i KNOW i have the Genuine hard lid, I have the same as yours,
Holden i have been told are using the EGR lids as a fill in, ONLY 3500 being made, once supply and demand are on par, the original suppler will take over,
Dint know if this is correct, but its what my uncle, (dealer) has told me,

Mate i rushed the dealer and got mine, (genuine ) in 3 days, wich i wish i hadn't, It is shit full, and the light and remote locking is pure wank,
If i had my time over again i would get my money back and buy a ERG one Direct, $2000 complete kit.
I will now end up with a ERG LId but i have to wait.

the original manufacturere/suppliers were having trouble making them correctly,
holden also confirmed this, as some people are still waiting more than two months for the lid, some weren't functioning etc etc.. and are/we're cr*p.
the EGR ones look mighty fine!

Been in to pick up my ute today and was told that this is what will be fitted as the hard lid. Technically it is not a holden hard lid but it is a holden endorsed product which means all warranty etc is still covered by holden. Unfortunatly they dont lock with the central locking, but i was told from the sales person that holden will not have supply of the official ones until late in the year, even as far back as december, and imo the egr one will fit the ve very nicely. Especially once its been lowered, if anyone has pics of a lowered ute with this type of lid i'd definatly like to see it

theres some pictures in either the Ve's spoted or ute gallery with a black SS with the lid fitted, altough it isn't lowered.
That same lid will be fitted to my ute tommoro, what i was told is, it(the orginal lid) failed the crash saftey test, which may or may not be true. also there is no internal light, but being a sparky im sure i can set some led's up or something of that nature.
As already mentioned though after seeing it in the flesh when i went to work out the finance for the ute, it does look better then the orginal. well thats my opinion.

:)They do look mint im getting mine fitted this week. They are made by the same company that makes the malloo lid. If you look on the underside of the lid they are webbed exactly the same as the malloo one. They are also made from carbon fibre plastic. Tough and light and paint perfect.
