Leaking Through The Seams

Has anyone encountered this problem in the Thunder Utes? Or VZ SS Utes with a hard lid?

When we purchased the car it had a slight leak in the back water coming in through the hinges, dealer removed some rubbers and affixed new ones and seems to be better now, after some rain haven’t seen much or no water at all,

and they advised the only way to fix water leaks properly is that they send it to a panel beater (Rigoli Smash) and they will pay,
to fix water leaks from ‘the seam’ (attached pics of what they reckon) as this is what the dealer stated, if it leaked again etc.

Has any one had this problem or something similar?
If so what did you have to go through or was there other solutions?

When i had my high mount stop light replaced in my VU, they used silicone when they refitted the moulding. Hasn't leaked since.

They just clip on and off, if its still in warranty get them to fix it, otherwise it should only take about 15 minutes to do yourself.

i dont understand how the brake light sail plane is related to leaking water inside the hard cover??? every hard cover leaks there not supposed to be water light, but all i did is get some weather striping from bunnings and put it along the support bar behind the window where the hinges are but its on the edge so you cant see it and put a little silicone in the corner gaps to the hingessit on the support bar but if you open it fast with alot of water drops on it it will usually over fill anyway as it cant go down the drain holes under the sail plane fast enough

i dont really understand why it does either, possibly water flows through the sail plane's and into the tray, its got a tray liner in there and no drain holes for me, it seems to be ok for now, only time will tell to see what job the dealer done.. again

problems like this holden should actually take into acount
if HSV and the Maloo's can do it properly i cant see why they can't :(
