Hi Guys,

I was thinking of lowering my HSV. As it is now the front air dam only just clears the gutter when parking headon. How do all of you manage to keep from damaging you bumpers I see so many lowered cars on the road and the bumper is just perfect. With Speed Humps gutters and steep driveways how do you manage? The cars look so much better lowered but I am worried about the price tage of fitting new SV300 Bumpers.

If your worried about your bumper then don't lower it. Mines stuffed but I just live with it. Not only will it get scratched up and the like but after repeated hits into things over time it snaps the clip off the back and your left with misalignment that isn't easily fixed.

you'll just have to learn not to park up as close to kerbs. i've got a clubsport bumper which doesn't clear any kerbs,i always have to leave a small gap, the only way i get up my driveway is to reverse up it, and it s not a steep driveway.i'm already on my second bumper due to pulling up to far in a parking bay and hitting those damn kerbs which cracked it... so you just gotta decide weather the looks are worth the extra effort. you will eventually get used to it and know what your car will and won't clear :)

I just reverse into the kerb. Safer :D

lol very funny!
I just park with a gap between my front bar and the cement stopper. i dont attempt to go up driveways that i know i wont make it up. My exhaust scrapes everywhere tho.

VX HSV's in particular have very low side skirts and front bumper.

Another hassle is that trolley jacks and post hoists won't fit under the side anymore and you'll need to drive it up on blocks or use your scissor jack first.

Something else to think about anyway.

I would still lower it but just don't go overboard or you'll regret it.

Yept that me the trolley jack doesnt clear the side skirts and concrete blocks are a pain..mine has a crack in the front bumper thats only visible from underneath so until that crack gets bigger the bumper is staying there. I know soon as i get a new one me or my missus is going to rip the brand new one off so no point replacing it.

As said you do get used to it, but my exhaust scraps way more than my bumper hits stuff so thats the only lowering drawback i have. Do it and then get the blower you were considering Wrinkles!
