With all this rain I have noticed that my Vy SS sedan is leaking, as I noticed a puddle of water on the back passenger side carpet. All the windows were closed so it must be leaking through a seal.
Is this a common problem? If yes what is it?
How can it be fixed? How much? ( it is going in for a service in a fortnight)
Any help would be greatful
I've found my car to leak at times, and its generally been the clear plastic sheet behind the door trim has torn or come away from the door. Take off the door trim and see if it's still intact and in place.

My VY used to do that but luckily(?) it got scraped down that side by someone doing a U-turn in front of my wife and after it was repaired it didn't do it again. Not sure which seal it was.

Mine used to leak from the front drivers door. I used to get a wet arm when driving. Took it to the dealer..realigned the door...no more leaks 4 years on.

Check the door drains(small holes at the bottom of door) ar not blocked with dirt. If so, they cause the door to fill with water and overflow into the cabin.

Main causes on any VT-VZ rear door is either the top frame rubbers (modified design released) or the clear plastic dust seals in behind the door trims. ANY open gap along their bottom edge will leak water on to the sill trim, and if you are parked at the right angle, will run into the car.

Yeah - I think it sneaks in past the rubber seals top and side of door. My VY does it now and again (a lot less in Melbourne during the last year though! lol).
Try hosing and checking.
Try silicone oiling the rubber seals - improves flexibility and helps water to bead up and run off rather than seeping through gaps.
Good luck.

You know what I think that is my problem, I noticed a puddle of water in the back passenger today and was like wtf. No sign of it leaking from the door or window it appears to be leaking from the bottom of the car somewhere, ill go check it out. :goodjob:

hey guys, sorry to thread dig, but this is my problem aswell, the last lot of big rain we have had has been getting into my car and it smells of stale water, i looked around and the back passenger floor is wet, so i looked at the door and it looks to be leaking from top seal, but im also noticing that the door sounds weird when closing, like its not aligned properly, so who can align doors, panel beater im thinking?? any advice appreciated, thanks

Ive had 3 commodores a Vt and 2 VYs and all have had this problem panel beaters and mechanics over teh years have never been able to fix it but i think it must have something to do with the door seal, i always make a point of clearing the drains so i dont think that would be my issue

My VZ used to pool water in the rear drivers side foot well. In my case the water used to come in through the drivers door and leak down the plastic dust/moister seal sheet and under the scuff plates, then under the carpet collecting behind the divers seat.
I think it was a design fault with the water drainage for the window (as the water that normally drains down the side of the window travels down the door loom and onto the plastic sheet) . I ended up removing the lower section of the plastic sheet and resealing it with extra silicon, hasn't leaked since.
