They will not fit your car straight away. The VE has a 67.1 centre bore. Previous Commodores had 69.6. You will need to machine the bores out first mate. :jester:

Yep,

i was told this i can get a set from wheel king with tyres, and machined to fit for about $1800
seems a fair price????? but they have no pictures of them on a vy.

Is that price include wheels, tyres and machining? If so, not a bad price. Maybe try photoshopping to see what they look like?

I have asked this before but never had an answer, I realise the VE wheels have to be machined to suit the pre VE cars hubs, but are there any issues with the wheel nuts, if the VE's have thicker studs I assume the stud holes in the wheels must also be bigger, how do the wheels nuts from the earlier cars sit in the wheels, do they have enough contact area to hold the wheels safely,
ie: is there any danger of them pulling into the wheel and the wheel coming loose? Or do you need to purchase different nuts, or is the difference very minimal. I wouldn't mind a set of the 18" VE SS wheels myself but would hate to lose a wheel due to the nuts not sitting right.

i spoke to wheel king today and they tell me its best to use the ve wheel
nuts and everything is ok,they tell me there are hundreds out there
and have no problems,so i will be ordering mine tomorrow, unless someone
can offer me a set in sydney, must be machined and at a good price:)

So to use the VE wheel nuts wouldn't you have to change the wheel studs
as supposedly the VE's have thicker studs so the VE nuts wouldn't fit the earlier cars. Just trying to get the right advice before I start looking for a set of VE SS 18".

I had the 18 inch ve ss ritted to my vy, bob jane didnt want to do it because the tapered nuts bite into the stud hole, but jax had no problem with it, but suggested that when the wheels are taken off and put back on they are hand tightened and that the wheel is centered on the hub properly. Have had no problems at all and the wheels have been off for rotation with no damage at all to the stud holes on the rim, and i reckon they look great to. if you sned me a pm with your email i can send you some pics
regards
pj

ps the rims were bought machined via ebay from one of the bigger wheel companies, i think they were about $950 for the 4 wheels inc frieght from melbourne
