I thought it was about time I pulled my finger out posted some pics of my SS up. I have had it since June last year and picked it up with 74000km on the clock. The back seat look like it had never been sat on and the trim is perfect.
I haven't done any mods yet as I have been a bit broke, but hopefully they will start soon. I have to get a new bonnet before the mods start after a little bit of a lose of concentration at the lights
Enjoy the pics

Yeah they were pics my bro took along time ago. I notcied after I posted them that the car was dirty! LOL
I love the interior and wasn't really in the market for a new car but this was in too good of a condition to pass up really

yea lucky score with this one mate looks in really good condition the previous owner really must of looked after it withe the leather seats as well looking very good
S2VYSS
19-02-2008, 06:14 PM
Yeah the interior is very good, but the rims were really badly gutter rashed and the paint has a few stratches and marks on it. Nothing that a proper detail wont fix or maybe a quick respray

I wanted one with a sunroof. The guy around the corner from me had the combo we both wanted mate and I was going to give him my number and say if you ever want to sell it let me know, but I never got around to it and then I went passed his house and seen a red VE there instead! Spewing!
I thinking I pull the tow bar off this weekend and then it wont look so dad and mum spec! LOL

:) Nice combo mate. We have a 6ltr VZ SS black with Red leather interior and its one of the best colour combos. The seats always look brighter in the pics than real life i reckon.

19-02-2008, 07:11 PM
Yeah I agree on the seats looking brighter in pics. how they look in pics is how they look after I have cleaned them meguiars leather cleaner

Good luck with the tow ball!
i had one the same on mine, and you have to take the bumper off and theres about 150 bolts to get it undone!
deffinately worth it as it will hit on every thing once you lower it!
S2VYSS
21-02-2008, 12:38 AM
Did you do it yourself? How hard was it?
vxSSilver
22-02-2008, 11:36 PM
i took the bumper off and most of the bolts, but there were 2 i couldnt do, paid my local exhaust shop $20 and he got it off.
Aslong as u take the bumper off for them they wont charge u bugger all to do it, he said doing the bumper is the worst bit

Very nice looking rig mate. Whilst bright, I reckon the interior sets it off.
As for the towbar, ring a Haymen Reese dealer and they may take it off for a few bob. You may also have to get some holes filled, where the hitch bolts were. Or, just leave it - never know when you need to tow something, or block someone's front bumper!!
Cheers,
Macca

Thanks for the comments guys
I looked at a couple with black trim but they were very plain to be honest. In those pics it hadn't been cleaned. When the leather is clean it is super bright and looks amazing
They are one of the best looking holden models, just cant wait to start on the mods and turning it into a nice head turning street car

Having owned a VY SS II ute (black with red leather) I love the colour scheme!
After I first bought it though I thought the red leather was a bit too lary (spelling) and wanted the grey. Sold the ute for a Red SV8 sedan with grey cloth and I also drive a silver VY II SS sedan with grey leather and I gotta say having experienced a few combo's that the red leather is the go!

very nice. black car red interior is the best colour scheme. planing on doing that to my car.

01-04-2008, 09:38 PM
Well the mods have been set back abit due to a very close call yesterday which I was lucky not to be killed in.
I was travelling down the hume highway yesterday to Cobram, were my family is from for a bit of a holiday and to help my mum out with my dad who was recently seriously assulted
I was driving through a place called kalkallo and the traffic was fairly busy. The speed limit is normally 100, but there was road works so it was 80. I was in the right hand lane with a truck in the left hand lane.
The truck was going coming up fairly quickly on another car in the left which was doing, I'm guessing around 50-60. He came up on the car really quickly and I was about at his cab with my passengers door, then he changed lanes!!!!
I just hit the brakes and pulled into the medium strap, probably hit the medium strip at 80, heading straight for a power pole brakes fully locked, I thought I missed the pole by about 2-3 feet and I managed to avoid the on coming traffic on the other side of the road by what I thought was probably 2-3 metres. All I could think was f**k this pole is going to hurt when I hit it then I was thinking I'm going to hit on coming traffic. I managed to slide in between both of them and hit a speed limit sign at about 25-30
The truck stopped and said he didnt see me there. I cant be f**ked typing any more about that!
I went back to were it happened later and found out I missed the pole by a foot. My wheel mark goes across the hole doug for the pole and we cant work out how I didnt rip the mirror off. I missed the on coming traffic, which also didnt slow down, by a metre
The damage:
-Dented the bonnet more
-Broke the front spoiler
-Buckled the left hand front rim as it hit the concrete gutter at 80
-Bent the sump guard
Below shows how much I missed the pole by and how close I got to on coming traffic

Very nice!Black with red leather looks tough.I've been looking @ one 54 000 on the clock for $33 000.Now 2c wot sort of trade i can get on my VT SS.
S2VYSS
08-04-2008, 05:33 PM
I'll get some better pics of the car when it's been fixed. The interior looks amazing after its been cleaned
I'm not sure what your VT is worth mate. I think 33000 is a bit much for a VY even with those kms. I paid 27000 for my car with 74000. I guess it depends on the quality of the car too

Just a quick update the car is still another 6-8 weeks from being fixed due to the guy changing his phone number, however he did admit to the police that he was in the wrong and that he did cause the accident. Thankfully the police have a number on which he can be contacted
Just sucks that it will be another 2 months before it is fixed now
On another note, I did pick up a set of ultra low king springs from a mate which I wil install after I get the car fixed

I'm still wanting for the insurance company to get the police report and chase the truck driver up. Its getting beyond a joke now really. Its been almost 3 months now and its still not fixed

Not sure why you're unhappy with the way it sits, looks perfect and level. :goodjob:
If you want the rear lower than that you shouldn't need custom springs made ... King's KHRL-46SL should do it.

11-08-2008, 12:21 PM
It doesnt show it in these pics, but the rear sits just a bit higher
I understand that there is lower springs out there, but I expected the coil overs to be lower then this when slammed right down

About time you posted some pics :P
Looks great, I think you can lower it another inch all round.
You might wait to get your tein coilovers checked out as im sure you can lower these alot lower than what you have.
See Mitch's Clubby below on 20's with tein coilovers.

Mitch has his adjusters out in the rear for this pic
I cant go much lower in the front as even at this height its a pain in the arse and the tyres would touch at full lock
I dont want to have the adjusters out as then it is just a set of springs in the rear and really defeats the purpose of having spent the money on coil overs in the first place
I'll post a pic up of the rear springs later so you can see there is no more adjustment
iloveholden

Get used to the dirty looks mate, even when you are going slower than everyone else you'll still get them... ;)
As an example I took my 18 month old daughter to playgroup the other day and when I was trying to park (was at a church/hall) all the oldies greased me off as if I was trying to run them all over.
Good to hear that you've got the car tuned finally, will have to catch up at some point so I can hear your exhaust.

seen your car driving around the area mate, looks mint and perfect combo (black red leather and a 6 speed). im in avondale heights and drive a silver VT exec on VX R8 rims. its nothing to look at but its a cammed ls1 and goes good with the 6 speed. should catch up and go for a cruise one weekend.
Cheers mate. I havent noticed your car, but when I driving I'm too busy looking out for pot holes and the police to notice anyone else
Sleeper is the way to do it mate, fly under the radar! What size stick have you got in it?
cant go wrong with a black manual ss.. tuff!
Yeah thats the one, always wanted a black manual SS and this one was too nice to pass up

Anyone else is more then welcome to plan a cruise

I'm planning a bit of a cruise for the boys @ work (couple of them are members on here).
We are going to hit up something similar to that Macedon route I suggested, I might do a write up if the route is any good and organise something :)

Its time for a bit of an update on the car
After along while of trying to get some new springs for the rear tein coil overs, I got some new springs made by king springs to suit the tein coil over adjustor. Here are some pics of the custom made springs next to the original tein equipment

http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg58/S2VYSS/PicnicatHangingRockKirksGoingAwa-1.jpg
So I decided that it was time for some new rims and Black Diamond, aka Johnny the lebo wheel man (not really lebo, he's greek) said " These new Konig Laces will look sick on your car uleb!", and I was like, " I not really sure". Then Big Red, the Protek Gimp said " They will make your car look really tough". So we tried them up against and I was sold. Then I put them on the car and I wasnt sure at first. After a drive and feeling how good these light weight wheels made my car brake, drive and accelerate, I was really sold! Here are some pics, let me know what you guys think

Same as the Verde's to keep clean really. I am worried about dirt and crap scratching the black lip
I wont be putting a red line of the lip, it would make the wheels too busy

Well summernats is done for another year and there is a bit of a repair bill. I think I have a cracked radiator and after some spirited laps on saturday arvo around the cruise route with a full car, the clutch doesnt love me as much, however knowing the quality of the Mal Wood clutch all will come good in time
I also installed some edlebrock covers and what a nightmare they have been, still need further cutting to clear. Plus have a ASE over flow relocation tank to fit, however need the rest of the parts and fittings
New wheels coming very soon
Also looking for some standard VY SS 18's, dont care about the tyre condition or if there are marks on the rims as they will be painted anyway. Please pm me if anyone has a set
As soon as the new wheels are on I will put pics up

How did you enjoy Summernats this year? I did more skids down tuff street this year and almost got booted by every security guard. lol
I was looking at fitting a set of those edelbrock covers also, how much stuffing around has it been so far? If it's an absolute pain I dont think I could be bothered... lol
S2VYSS
17-01-2011, 05:27 PM
I enjoyed it mate, they told me on saturday burnouts on the spot were fine, but any sideways and I would be kicked out. The back section was perfect for a bit of sideways stuff and the guards were pretty chilled around the back. One even made a point of telling me how much he liked my car everytime I went passed, so I did a skid for him :cussing::headbang::wave:
They probably arent that hard to do, just needs careful planning. Would have been easier if I had seen someone else's first

The edelbrock covers look great, but were never designed for our engine bays so need a bit of work to get right. The raw cast finish looks good against the black in the engine bay.

No wheels pics yet, run into some problems today with fixing the radiator. Last year, some reversed into the front of the car, damaging the intrustion bar at the front (looks like a tow bar did it), which then wouldnt allow us to remove the radiator, because we couldnt move the air con condensor enough. So with the use of a sledge hammer and some pulling we got the intrustion bar off, got the radiator out and it will be picked up tomorrow so it can be checked to establish why it was leaking.
Will get a new intrustion bar on monday, have the front bumper fixed (just heated & popped out) and get the radiator back. Will fit the wheels up tomorrow and stick them on the car for some pics
