G'day again.
Im posting this question on behalf of a friend. He has a HSV Enhanced 5.0L VS Executive #597 and wants to know how many VS's were enhanced and specifically how many executives were enhanced.
He has emailed HSV and got this as a reply.
"Because the enhancement packs were not mainstream HSV models we have no record of exactly how many were done and how many Execs were done. Regards HSV"
He thought it was strange that they haven't kept any records of these cars being built when you'd think they would have. Is it possible that whoever replied to his email doesn't know what they're on about or is it true about not keeping records.
cheers,
Brendan.

Over ten years ago now.
HSV have used different systems over the years, and probably don't keep records of the early stuff anymore.
The only ones I was aware of myself were the ones fitted with the "XX1" 185kW engine upgrade, available on any VR-VS V8 model as a regular production option.

I dont know if his car is speical or not but it came with the following options.
HSV 185i engine
FE2
Tyre and Wheel upgrade package
HSV Panther Mica paint
So i dont know if that extra info will help at all shed any light on the question otherwise it seems its all lost to history.
cheers.

I had a 1994 VR S2 ute which was an S Pack V8 with the HSV enhanced 185kw and HSV stamped twin exhaust system and suspension package. When I rang HSV to confirm it was real they had a record of the VIN and were able to tell me all the options were correct. Surely they could somehow find out for you .. call HSV just to make sure but wouldnt be surprised like planetdavo said and they have deleted the file. Post up a pic !!!

From what i've been told, It wasn't just optioned up by the previous owner. It was taken from Holden to HSV. "Enhanced" and then sold. What ever the case, here are a few pics!

HSV used to do some special "dealer group" upgrade packages, that added a small number of options to a regular Commodore model. Came with plates and stuff, but weren't a "special" model.
Photo looks a bit like an SLR5000 Commodore but without the decals, as that was based off a regular Executive as well. Didn't even get the XX1 upgrade either!

I have never heard of HSV enhanced VS execs before, but I have heard of HSV VS SS. I can image it would be a fairly rare car

Back in VS days you only had to option a HSV instrument cluster and you got a "HSV Enhanced" Plate and badging. I think it was only around a $450 upgrade.
PM me your VIN number and I will look it up for you.

does anyone know if the cars equipped with a HSV enhanced exhaust had different hanger mounts on the IRS subframe?

I don't think so. The only exhaust hanger changes I can think of were in the cross member for the gearbox for some models.

Funny thing is, it seems it is still that way. Just order a VE with track stripes, or the leather steering wheel, or perhaps even just the leather gear knob and you get a HSVi plate affixed :)

The enhancement package was available to any base model V8 from VR to VT S1. It was a specific order against HSV where the engine, suspension, exhaust and PCM / BCM were replaced and a lovely little plaque in the engine bay and a couple of badges added.
The option was about 3,500 extra from memory, I don't think I still have the original invoice at home anymore...
This is what netted the HSV enhanced badge on the boot / tailgate.
HSV should know what it is as they should have a record on the VIN as it went through their factory prior to delivery out to the dealer.
Just my personal experience with buying a new VS S1 S-Pack Ute with the HSV Enhanced pack...
