Ok heres the situation i am thinking of putting a manual gearbox in my VT, but i am wondering if it is worth the money. I have heard that it will cost $2000 but I am not sure how much it will cost so if anyone could tell me that would be great?

Or I will get my car lowered. a set of high ratio roller rockers from V6supercharged.com.au, and the windows tinted.

If anyone has had a gearbox swap tell me how much it costs with parts and labour

I assume you mean you have an auto gearbox at the moment as your profile doesn't say? The question of auto/manual conversions has been asked quite a few times before and the general consensus is that it's not worth it on an older car. $2,000 sounds quite cheap according to other figures I'm sure have been quoted in those threads but I guess it depends on what condition the one you put in is and how much your current one is worth second hand to someone.

Yours would have to be a very special car in order to justifying doing that in preference to selling it and buying a manual - that would probably work out far more cost effective unless you have someone willing to sell you a full manual set up cheap and mates who will do the labour part of it free/cheap for you.

Yeah i guess it would be best just to go for my second option of lowering it and the high ratio roller rockers and tinted windows
