Towing capacity for Calais V 6ltr......

Hey gent's,
I'm after some info for a mate who has a 2 tonne boat and is very keen on a Calais V {6ltr}, Question is,What is the maximum towing capacity of the Calais V with all the "heavy duty" towing kit fitted ?

The problem is that his boat once loaded with fuel and gear will weigh about 2.3 tonne, and He doesn't wont any dramas down the track as far as insurance goes.....

Pretty confident 2100kg is the limit.

Your mate should rock up to a dealership complete with boat and ask for a demo to test drive with the boat hooked up, to see how it goes. :jester:

Whether the car will comfortably tow it is irrelevant. If it is rated to 2100kg's that is all you can legally tow with it. You have major accident whilst towing a trailer above the vehicles rated towing capacity and bad things will happen.

It appears it may be above the limit, thus illegal if towed.......he ain't going to be happy.

I think Nissan Navara has a pretty good capacity like 3 tonnes also. If you are going to tow, something with a good margin in it's towing cpacity is a wise move,

yeah he had a drive of the Navara {turbo diesel} and it was


Ger UTLESS, it is also his work car for repping so he wants something that is comfertable and goes well that tows well.........pink elephant.
