There isnt one.. Craigs Auto's is working on one but dont think its finished as of yet.. so maybe the reason no one is running a stall is because they dont exist :)

I can arrange stall converters to suit the A6 from the States. They will cost more than the usual converter though because some of the parts needed for them to be made are hard to acquire. I can get bigger ones as well.

AM i right in asuming that the stall size needs to be around the mid to low end of the cam torque {bigger cam bigger stall }so 228/230ish would need what size stall for Daley driver ? with 3.27 diff A6

The stall converters i can get from my supplier in the US have lockup better than stock and almost any stall speed with good torque multiplication. They will be similar to what i have in my car. I know of 2 of these converters 60 footing in LS1s in the 1.5s, mine is regularly doing in the 1.50- area.

A '3000' stall converter will probably rarely see below 4400rpm after a kickdown, my 4400rpm rarely sees below 5500rpm. In a VE A6 staying above 4800rpm would be nice. Standard they are probably behaving like a 2500rpm stall. So 3200rpm would help performance and still be nice on the street.

At this stage converters for the A6 will cost $1500.

4000 stalls are good at the strip and with lockup can be tuned to be nice on the street. 3500 is enough to be decent at the strip and better on the road. 3000 in A6 would be nice on the road and not big enough at the strip.

A 230 cam would be best with a 4000 stall, the A6 box might make this OK to be a little bit smaller for the same effect as in a 4L60e. The 1st gear in a A6 is very low especially when teamed with 3.27.

what about a .227/.230 112lsa and 3.7 diff. 3000rpm or 3500rpm stall
or would you put something like .222/230 112lsa or .224/.228 114lsa

LOOKS like a genuine GM one as thear is 2 converters for the
6L80E a 300mm and 255mm listed on the GM site under 6L80E speck cant find any part no though the 255mm one would be about 2800 to 3200 stall i THINK the 300mm round 1500 to 1800

Dahm it! ... Why didnt they put that in stock??? Keep me posted ... I wonder how efficient the stock one would be and why they choose not to use it in the Corvette or our cars ...

That would make it slip not stall ... I doubt that would be very efficient ...

this may sound rude or dumb but how can you order a convertor for our commodore from the states. whats to say the car is dismantled and it doesnt fit, bit hard to send back to US once semi fitted?

I wonder if a 255 mm converter is for a truck application ? If so it may work well for the strip in a lighter car.

cheers

So that may be the one to go for then if it's OEM it should work well hopefully. Might have to trawl some corvette forums to see what the seppos have to say about em.

Good stuff on the 6l80e
