Sounds like a good price, ive just found an 08 plated VE SSV auto with satnav sunroof and reverse parking sensors for 51k drive away! The dealer quoted me just under 50k for an 07 plated model.

hi guys i picked up my ve ss auto with 20's,stripe kit and tint brand new for $46,500 d/away from hunter holden in sydney.just tell them what u want to pay and tell them to make it happen.as long as its realistic its in the best interest of the dealer to make it happen.just dont go in there and be rude and say that u can buy it somewhere else cheaper.

OK...spoke to the dealer...turns out the $46,990 is for '07 stock still available in WA....apparently there are some crunch, Ignition, morpheous ones left
We could have possibly changed to one of the driveaway deals...but decided to stick with the 08 plate (feb), Phantom , 55kms, that we started with.....:smilesandbanana:
only down side is that we were supposed to pick it up today....but because there is a few cars waiting before us and the long weekend...we have to wait till wednesday....:bawl:
hope i can last.........:eyes:
will be my first V8 since i had the VR SS back in NZ......had the VX S with the super 6 that was intercooled (276rwhp)...but it wasnt an 8:bow:

Just to clarify, you are a personal buyer right? None of this corporate/fleet buyer bizzo?

Can I just recommend that when people do buy new cars, they go to several dealers as opossed to just the one or two. I know some are easily swayed by the expertise of the salesman, but always remember, they are their to make maximum profit from their sales.
Best thing to do is to go to several dealers and just turn them all against each other in an effort to win your business. You will find all of them will try and out do the other if you mention it subtly enough.
As an example, when I was in the market for a E Series GTS (mid last year), I bargained one dealer for a 07 plated E Seriest GTS with sunroof and DVD player for $70K driveaway. So that included stamp duty, dealer delivery and rego. Not a demo, and no kms on the car. I did this by simply call literally every HSV dealer in the Sydney area and some in Melbourne and just kept pushing one off against the other.
For the record, I didnt buy the car - my plans very quickly changed after discussing the purchase off a new car with my close mates and family. Basically they told me I was being a knob and I should buy a house first.

Buy a house first? Are they crazy. At least you can live in your car, but its a bit hard to drive your house.
Just kidding, good idea.
