Hi guys...i have a burning desire to get my car to burble and back fire more than it does.
I have a VT ss series 2, 5.7, auto with advanced tri-y headers, twin 2.5 with the rear ressie removed and aftermarket cats. I dont want to spend heaps more on it but i was wondering what the best mods would be.
either:
-ss cold air induction
-cam package
-or change to a single 3.5 system
do you guys have any idea about how much id expect to pay for the above.
I'm not so worried about pulling low times down the 1/4 but note and power would be good.
Like i mentioned don't wanna damage the wallet too much.
Thanks in advance for any advice/responses
p.s have searched many threads but not many answer my question to suit me.

A nice decent sized cam would do the trick;)

I would say option 2 and 3.
Put the cash you would have wasted on Option 1 on the horse of your choice tommorow and you may even pay for Option 2 and 3.

what is the big difference between 4into1 compared with tri-y's from what ive read there isnt much of a difference

different sound (i reckon)
4>1s are the go, even says so in "how to build high powered ls1/ls6s"
you dont see many yank ls1s without longtubes
alot of "people" like try y's because there not a pain in the arse to fit like 4>1s

yeah thats what my mechanic said he supplied both but i had tri-y's fitted, i have a mate with exact same car his has 4-1 and couldnt tell the difference between the 2 sound and performance wise, however mine seems to have more low down torque.
but now im chasing that extra rumble, grunt, burble that we all love.

you will be looking at 3-3.5k for a cam
$700-800 for a 3.5

i'm happy with the sound when i open it up, i find myself setting of car alarms when i hammer it past a mercedes dealership down the road.
what i ultimately want is for it to idle likes its balls have dropped, ive heard that disconnecting the pvc pressure hose can give u some lumpy idling but is this good for the car?

your mates probably got more top end, do you have a dyno graph?

havent got the dyno run just yet, in the process of getting it on the dyno, how much does that generally cost?
